Please think pleasant thoughts for me. The wife just took out three feet of our garage door/house framing, the front end of my daughter's 2 year old Exterra (which she was driving - apparently hit the gas pedal and thought she was on the brake as she came up the driveway), and took out the back end of my Z, shoving it into a aluminum fold up ladder (which is now totalled) and into the wall at the head end of the garage with enough force to bust up the drywall, and spring the base molding loose on the inside of our hall closet, tearing that wall's drywall also. My poor silverstone MT6 touring has a bashed in rear end, a throughly f'd up front cap, and when I rolled it out onto the driveway, it left big piles of converter catalyst. Oh well, FYI the Exterra is really made of tough stuff - its driveable and it looks like it suffered no worse than a screwed up front bumper - no hood or fender damage that I can see. My 16 year old son and I have just finished temporary framing repairs to the house and have swept up the loose mess on the garage floor. I guess we're lucky - she's fine other than being emotionaly shook up and if she had been 3 feet to the right she would have nailed our 10 month Odessey MV. Three of our own cars in one shot just may have been enough to push me over the edge! Hope everyone else on the forum has a quieter Thanksgiving weekend.

Wwwhoa, this I gotta see! Sorry for a cr*py day but really really glad no one was hurt..especially your wife. (my wife did the same thing to a former BF's car way before we got together) And yes the cars can be fixed.

 

I doubt I would have been that cool. Hell, I got pissed the day after I washed the wife's car, and she comes home with road tar on the sides, LOL.

Sorry again! Reminds me when I was in Belgium, me and the wife had a just bought a brand new Mazda and I had just detailed it, the wife takes it too work. In the past, she would see me passing tractors (they drive on the roads in Europe) all the time. Well that day, she decided to pass a tractor on a curve. Yep, head on collison, car was totalled, but the main thing is, the wife was fine, just a bruised knee. The car on the other hand was totalled and I got a $300 ticket for failure to yield the right of way since i was the owner of the car, imagine that!

right before I bought my Z, I managed to back out of the garage and into my wife's Pathfinder.. grrrrr!!!! Nothing like dropping $1200 to fix a car that I was one week from tradng in.

State Farms is the best (at least until I get the new higher rates)! Just got done with the claims people, have claims #'s for each vehicle (2) and the house. The Z is going to be flatbedded to the local Nissan Bodyshop, the restoration GC is supposed to be coming by later too. Here is the first pic;

jeez, damn the bad timing. Not that there is ever a good time to have house and vehicles damaged, but just before Christmas sucks especially.

 

My wife and I are currently discussing what would happen if she did this.....

OMG! What a nightmare.

Maybe if ppl slow down and think about what they are doing for 5 seconds instead of rushing, this costly catastrophe could have been avoided. Sheesh.

 

I wanna see pictures of the ladder. Not every day you see one of those get totaled.
