I wonder if the bidders really understand they aren't bidding on the car itself, but just a place in line? It says it plainly in the ad, but we all know people are dumb. Still, it's pretty tempting, but I have just put too much time in this already. Hopefully the Z will be like my MR2 Spyder that is still worth nearly what I paid for it 2 years and 24,000 miles later:

I wish people had paid more attention to the marketing .....wait a minute their was very little marketing for the Z.. no wonder people are scrambleing to get the last few cars....sorry just rambleing about how someone could pay over MSRP when the car is available for ALL to have...

Default I thought about that but.....

....check out the bidding on the Mini Coopers.

There was some initial confusion on those auctions but the wording is pretty direct now. They aare simply bidding for the right to buy the Z.

Just think what may happen to the prices when the full blown media blitz hits in the new few weeks.

Yes, let's hope so! My acution ends in a few hours and noticed some of the same bidders! This one is really high!

For me, I would gladly have accepted a bid at my deposit. Personally I was not looking to make easy money, but if someone is willing to pay....who I'm I to stop them

Time will tell!

Why would someone pay $7000+ just for the "right" to buy the car. They'll be paying roughly $43K for a car they could buy at MSRP! Yes, they'll get it sooner but is 3-4 months worth 7 grand?

"They'll be paying roughly $43K for a car they could buy at MSRP!"

Dr. Bonz-

This may be true, if they get in on the pre-order. But, if not, they may be paying a lot more than MSRP when the dealers get their standard allotments.

So why not simply "get in on the preorder" then? We see on here daily that there are preorders left. Why not do that instead of bidding on e-bay for this?
