Default Just bought my first Z, couple of questions.

First off, let me know what you think of the deal.
I paid $16,900 Canadian. It's a 2003 track package. 66,000 kilometers. (41,000 miles)

It's been garaged for all of our Canadian winters, and the owner had all the service records for oil changes which were done every 5000km. Coolant was just changed as well as brake pads. I'd say interior/exterior condition is 9/10. I noticed one scratch and one door ding dent on the driver door along with some expected rock chips.

Only mods are:
Yokohama S-Drive Tires
K&N filter in stock airbox
Nismo oil cap/rad cap/shift ****

Now my questions. Brake pads were just changed... They look brand new and have lots of pad on them but they still squeal when I touch the brakes... What gives? Rotors were not changed.

Are power leather seats plug and play? I found a set for sale here for $400.

My first Z and don't know too much about the cars. Anything to look out for?

Pads may be glazed over from inappropriate break in.

The power seats are not plug and play.

Also I think you may have paid too much, I bought my 04 touring Z two years ago for $16000 USD and it only had 30000 miles.

Nice buy, any pictures yet? I know for a base you have to wire the seats up, but its well worth it. There's also a write up for it on here. As for the pads are they oem or aftermarket, and how do the rotors look. It may be worth it to have them turned or replaced, since they may have grooves or rust on the braking surface. And change out for some higher quality pads or oem if they're aftermarket.

Welcome and congratulations.

Some brake pads are noisy. Nothing wrong with them just noisy.

Leather seats are NOT plug-and-play. You are missing heater controls.

You can try putting never-squeel or similar products on the metal backing of the pads to try to reduce noise.

Price wise if the exterior interior and maintenance were mint, then I'd say that's a fair price for the canadian market. The Z is worth roughly $4000-5000 more in the canadian market compared to the U.S market for the exact same car.

Sorry no pics. The seller of the car was kind enough to let me keep it in his garage until the snow melts.

Can anyone link me to the write-up for seats? I searched but no luck.
For the brakes, I will probably buy some hawk pads and get the rotors machined.

Id be careful with this for insurance reasons. What if garage burns down? Or if he resells the car to someone else claiming its his, saying hey its in my garage? I've heard horror stories... Just FYI

As for squeaky brakes, like Davidv said some brakes just squeak not much you can do.

Yeah, be wary of the scammers. They all seem sincere, until they take everything but the underpants on your ***.

As for the brakes...you know what you do with squeaky brake pads... you throw those bastards in the garbage.. haha.
