I placed an order with our local dealer a month ago that they have been holding until Nissan allocated more cars to them and they could officially place the order.
Tonight, I visited the dealership to check out a Z on the showroom floor (a pre-order that was not taken...wrong color for me) and they told me that Nissan has started allocating more cars today. This new allocation is for 2 cars for them and for December delivery. The pre-sale orders will carry them through November with cars.
This dealer has been very on target so far with information without playing any games. Sooooo...for those of you waiting to order, this may be a window of opportunity.
Good luck....respond with any questions....

yes....it is an actual buyers order with all the details, signed, pricing (MSRP price with no other add ons), etc...... There was no deposit. I can walk away from it with no committment when it comes in. They know they can sell them so they are not taking any deposits....they did the same with the pre-order.

Canton Ohio, hour south of Cleveland...it is a black 6 manual touring with black leather, kick plates and don't remember any other options....no nav or spoilers...
They believe they have a buyer in California that contacted them earlier today but the guy who seals the deals wasn't there so the salesman I am working with was not 100% sure if it is really sold or not....you could give it a try....the dealer is Waikem Nissan.

a few weeks ago the Nissan district rep was in and told them that the lead time on Zs is 60 days instead of the customary 90 that nissan uses. The pre-sale cars are accounted for them 5 in total....1 in September, and 2 October, and 2 November.....therefore if they are taking orders now it would make sense that this new group would follow in December....
obviously any unexpected production problems, etc. will cause delays but I have heard consistently that the pre-sale cars will all be out by November....
living in a winter climate I don't really care if it takes longer but am mostly interested in making sure I get one and its exactly what I want.......
