Been there, done that... my estimated damage value was $7,000... was your car in a garage or parked on the street? Can't have anything nice these days without worrying about it.

The rookie that stole mine ripped the glass out, scuffed my leather seats and every panel inside the car, ripped the radio out destroying the dash and center console... they were clearly not professional...

that sucks man. not surprised it happened in that area. step up your security measures for your Z next time = lojack, alarm, get a garage, hide anything valuable that's exposed in the car, remove any audio brand stickers from your glass etc.

Sux bro.

Happened twice to me, once parked in my driveway and once in a parking garage at work, two different cars. Both times the faceplate was not in the car so the thieves didnt get it, go figure.

Havent replaced a head unit with aftermarket since - I have done amps, subs, speakers, etc. But left the headunit stock.

Thats what you get for living in the ghetto.

I've had two stolen when I lived in Newark. The first time they drilled out the door lock to get access and stole my head unit. The second time they smashed the window.

From my life experiences the 350Z oem head unit is better than aftermarket (at least with the bose z unit)

I was just about to ask what that crap even sells for.

How messed up is it that someone does thousands in damage just to make a few bucks.

I'm going to buy a cheap car, put lots of stickers for expensive equipment on the windows, and rig it with a grenade. F**k those people.

Doesn't matter where you live or how nice of a neighborhood it is.
More prominent areas are actually more prone to break ins like this than the ghetto. What has more appeal to a thief - a Walmart red tag special out of an 89 Cutlass Supreme, or an Alpine from a Mercedes?
