Also, the other guy is Tiff Needell. Go to RacingFlix.com , there are a ton of videos with him in it. My favorites are the E46 M3, and the Audi RS4 Avant.

As for walking and chewing gum....both are things you can do without even thinking about them. Driving a car around a racetrack and turning what you feel from the car into words your first time around the track in the car is NOT like walking and chewing gum. You've obviously never driven a car on a real racetrack if you think that driving down the street chatting with a friend is the same. It takes all your attention and concentration to drive a car at it's limits around a roadcourse.

they won't stop posting their videos. i've seen people on here post junk videos over and over....even though they get ragged on by everyone.
i was just stating that it was pretty lame (to me).
put me in any car and i'll do the same thing. it's not that hard. it's called communicating (well, to me that's what it's called). give me anything that i haven't done before...and tell me to talk about it while i am doing it...it's not hard for me to do. but, that's me. it might be hard for other people to do. and, no, i'm not special. just an average joe shmo.
you are right...walking and chewing gum is (well, IS to most people) subconscious. this wouldn't be the same...i was just saying it is easy.
and, no, it doesn't take all of your concentration to race. it takes more concentration when there are other cars and obstacles...but not on an open race course. what she did, to me, is very easy. i've done it many times (never in my car though...i'd rather not beat on it)...and, to me, it's easy.

No one's mentioned the fact that she switched from a right hand drive car (her usual) to a left-hand drive. I've driven a right-hand drive MT car, and it was quite a trip. Consider that you have to shift with the opposite hand, but the shift pattern is not reversed, so it's not just a mirror image switch. Also, driving a track you're used to from the "wrong" side of the car must be an interesting challenge, particularly as regards your perception of the apexes.
Now, presumably she drives a lot of cars in both configurations, but it might account for some of the sloppiness djkern (and I) observed.
If she had been trying to do her best around the track, I'd agree with djkern that she wasn't doing a very good job, even granting she's unfamiliar with the cars. But I suspect there's something else happening here. This is televsion, after all.
They must have taped for several hours and multiple laps. Even though going sideways is not the fastest way around the track, it looks flashy. So the director may have either chosen takes from before she got used to the car's handing, or instructed her to slide it around because it looks cool.
As for talking while driving, that's no biggie. After you've been racing or driving HPDEs for a while, it all becomes second nature. I've been running on track for four years, and I often take passengers with me and give a running commentary on what I'm doing. In fact, instructors use your ability to hold a conversation while driving as a means of judging your abilities. If you can talk with them while not screwing up, it means you have the basic skills down pat.
TV magic enters into this too. Although the final show looks like she's talking off the top of her head during the first lap she's ever driven in the car, it probably didn't happen exactly like that. The in-car footage could have been filmed after she'd had a chance to think about exactly what she wanted to say. She could have done multiple takes of every line. Anyway, while shooting the interiors she doesn't have to take it at 100%, or anywhere close. You can't tell how fast she's going from that angle

i agree. also, if she is switching from right hand drive to left hand drive....i give her more credit (if she doesn't drive left hand drive normally). but, she's on tv...i'm sure she's used to it. that would be hard for me. the rest...i still have the same opinion.

The way I see it, there is this beautiful blonde spunky british lady who drives an Audi TT and yawns. Then she gets in OUR car. This is my350Z.com right? As she's driving OUR car, she begins to get excited in a rather randy (adj. Of or characterized by frank, uninhibited sexuality) sort of fashion.
Sure she's not an F1 driver. But she is driving a left hand drive car, as astutely noted by our friend commasense.
She says things in that sexy british accent like "This thing just slides its rear end... and it's LOVELY..." and "three and a half thousand revs, dump the clutch, and it rockets off the line..." (with a grin) and "So the TT is still very pretty and its the car you'd want to arrive at the party with... but the 350Zed is the one you want to take home, rear wheel drive... don't you JUST LOVE IT!!!"
Quite frankly, I think we should make her the official my350Z.com idol lady type person.
As for djkern, he certainly has a right to his opinion. And for all of djkern's detractors, they have a right to theirs. Kern, for the record, bitching about having the right to say what you want and then getting down on other people for exercising their right to say what they want, is rather hypocritical.
At anyrate, I would guess djkern to be on the younger side judging from his writing style (18-23). I'll bet he owns a Z which either means he's spoiled or stupid. Spoiled because mommy and daddy bought his car for him or stupid because he owns a car he can't afford. I'm 23 and have a better salary than most 40 year olds. Furthermore, it's not how much money you have, or your age, it's how you use it. I know of plenty of older individuals (some with college degrees) who barely make ends meet.
People always assume I'm driving my father's car or that my parents bought it for me. It gets really old.

I enjoyed the video for what it was worth and look forward to more vids in the future. Anyways, I don't believe you have a girlfriend, you should post her pic up and prove to us that she is hotter than the beautiful british lady. Pictures of your mom don't count!!!
