Hey guys and gals got back from my dealer today and while i was there getting my new steering wheel i asked the guys about Nismo parts and our warranty. They told me that if they "installed" the parts then the original factory warranty is still good, if installed elsewhere then if theres a problem and it is traced back to the mod then the owner is responsible for the cost.
Just thought i would pass on the info to you guys! Has anyone else heard this or are the folks at my dealers service center wrong?

If they are saying they'll cover R-tune stuff if they install it, get it in writing and BUT IT! Cause, R-tune stuff is not covered (just like any other aftermarket part), and if it does break or cause a problem because of the mod, then no, they aren't covered (installed by dealer or not, technically, but they may let ir slide if they did the work). If the problem was caused by the install, not the part, and the dealer did it, then yes, they should cover it regardless.
The S-tune stuff shouldn't affect your warranty at all (and are considered the same as optional equipment in a general sense) , regardless of who installs it, provided the they don't trace back a problem to an incorrect install (vs. a defective part). Defective s-tune stuff outta be covered under warranty if installed correctly (and if the deaer does it, then they can't argue that it was installed incorrectly. )
At least, that's my understanding.
