Default I bought the Performance...but

Have since decided that the Base would have been the best buy. Sport Compact Car said that the stock LSD is weak, and I plan on buying new wheels anyways.

I would definitely upgrade the Base with an aftermarket LSD if was getting one though.

that is kind of what I was thinking, certainly for $500-$1500 there will soon be an aftermarket LSD that would make the Base (with 19" wheels for me) a great buy. ALL performance and NO-fluff

Default Base!!!!

I agree 100%%%%
The base is the best deal for the money. Also nissan has the least markup on that model. It is the lightest model made and I plan on changing the wheels anyway. I don't even like the regular 18's, they look like pathfinder wheels. Nissan should of made the track model a real track model like the M3 liteweight or the Porsche RS America. The 18"Rays are nice but for $8000 I can find nicer wheels and 6piston calipers.

Default Yeah but you don't get

Cruise Control
Traction Control System
Xenon headlights
Dual illuminated Vanity mirrors
Homelink
Auto dimming rearview mirror
LSD (which you all mentioned)
and
Aluminum pedals!!!!!

And this is just the differnce between the base and the enthusiast. I believe the entusiast is the best buy for only $1980 more, those little things are very nice and super practical. But that is why the offer the Z in 5 models...something for everyone.

ya, th Enthusiest is a great buy also, since you get all that for less than 2K

I am sure I can walk in and get the aluminum pedals for under $50 though, the rest I really don't care a whole lot about

Once you've had HID lights, you wouldn't be satisified w/ the old-fashioned kind.

I think the enthusest is the best buy...but i'm a sucker for xenon and cruise control and purdy pedals.

I agree, Enthusiast is definately a good deal. I'm most excited about the xenons, pedals, and the homelink. Never had those.

Default Correction!

The base model does have limited slip it is mechanical not lag like with the viscous coupling.

Uhhhhh. no....
No limited slip on the base.
just standard diff.
One wheel spinning, one wheel twidling its thumbs...
Ever try to start up a rainy hill in a manual trans car w/ loads of torque and no LS? Not fun once one wheel slips, ugh
