You mean the guy who was smart enough to finance a car for 8 years isn't taking responsibility for his engine blowing up?

Shocker.

So the dealer just says "it's a blown engine" and can't at least give you some idea of what it is? I don't know a single *real* mechanic who says "you have a blown engine" and can't at least give an idea of what's wrong.

All I've read so far is that the engine apparently went into limp mode and your radiator got mad. You took it to stealer and they want to make a rape on you.

I would definitely investigate the cause of the radiator failure since it was just replaced.

Also, didn't you notice the engine temps going up? Generally not a good idea to drive a car that is hot, especially an aluminum one.

how about brining it someplace else for a 2nd opinion?

for a radiator to blow, and not a radiator hose, means either a 1. cheap radiator was used as a replacement or 2. insane amounts of pressure (massive headgasket failure)

how hot did it get? for how long?

could probably get a radiator and hoses from a junkyard, put them in, fill with coolant and bleed per the FSM, and see what happens...if the motor is blown, it won't matter, and you'll be no worse than you are right now, but you'll at least have proof of the dealerships assesment

insurance company may also be able to assist as kwame said

part-out thread coming soon. DE engines are very cheap now AND you could build one. Your car is worth far more than "$0".

maybe this could be a perfect excuse to build your engine with some F/I unit cause heck 10k could be put to much better use, or just get a classified one for close to 1k and put it in yourself.

I'm sure that your previous front-end collision will have something to do with it.

I agree with these guys. Maybe it was a faulty radiator but if the radiator suddenly starts to leak you should have noticed the temp gauge. if you would have seen that then pulled over before all the lights (aka kaboooom) came on then you would have been getting the radioator replaced through insurance due to shitty parts. but not you have a much bigger problem on hand. have to be careful and pay attention to those gauges. their not just for looks.

When you saw the exploded radiator fluid on your engine you should have called a tow. Like most everyone said should have been checking gauges and not txting.
