The car does everything I want to do without going over 3000 rpms. I rarely see anything over 2500 just driving around. Probably 95% of the time it shifts at 2K as I accelerate, then I let off some.

So you don't do much spirited driving, I'm assuming?

I Take it up to 3000-3500 while DD then when I go to the track or wanna have some fun around the canyons it goes up too 4500-5500.
Car has 84,000 miles and still runs like a beast.

I have to hear that motor scream at least once a day. Not at the max but at least around 5500.

^^ I don't see how you can be proud of not getting past 3000 RPMs and brag about the low mileage. I've seen your similar posts in multiple threads.

I bought my car new, have close to $40k in it after the mods. It has 50K miles (albeit not much for 6 years) but still in mint condition. Probably one of the most mint 2005s you will find. It's paid off and worth $16000 if I'm lucky. It's a car, drive it but take care of it.

If my wife is in the car with me I shift at low RPMs and keep it smooth. When I am on my own I take it pretty high in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear.

I say you only live once. Have fun, stop driving like a ***** lol.
I'm not saying to beat on it, but once in a while is fine to take it up to 5-6k rpms.

It's hard to believe that a car with the electronics like the Z has to control the fuel mixture that you would have to rev the engine up to the red line once a day to keep carbon from building up on parts. If you want to drive at high rpms for the thrill of it, fine, but you're probably rationalizing if you really believe you have to drive your car that way to keep carbon from building up.
