This is a dream swap for sure...... Sick stuff op. I myself will go the RB26 route one day but this would also do if the motor etc.. was had for a good price... GL!
Why would you go from a 3.5 to a 2.6? Like I stated, waste of money IMO.

big power doesn't necessarily come from big bore displacement. sometimes potential beats displacement. but like you said, thats your opinion, i'm only stating mine (not starting an argument)

Totally respect your opinion and you have to do what makes you happy. I think the VQ35HR has a ton of potential. To me, the RB (altough a great motor) is now out dated. Sorry about the thread jack OP Still in for progress pics and updates!

(rx-7 motor for those who do not know)
But that is only my opinion. I'm in for the updates and see what performance it would yield on a 350. Less you plan to baby it around town.
Very nice! I'd love to have a 2JZ swapped Z. More pictures and details!
Whoever mentioned putting a 13b in a Z... Timebomb + torqueless = No fun.

The RB and 2JZ are superior motors in their power-holding capabilities. They may not be as light as aluminum motors, but they can easily be powerhouses.
