Default 350Z Automatic Performance

I currently owned a 07 Nissan 350Z (VQ35HR) with automatic transmission.
And I am curious what should i expect its 0-100Km time to be (STOCK,NOT MODDED)?

The "official" time is about 5.8s but I am pretty sure that is for the 6-speed manual version, not the automatic version.

I tried several times with my friend and the best time i got was 6.7sec and i am quite disappointed with the time, coz i was expecting less than 6 sec, at least.
Or does a not-so-dry road condition plus stock tires, plus 1 extra person in car really count for it? or there is something wrong with my engine?

PLEASE ANYONE with HR engine, auto tran.Share your experience here, PLZ!!!
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply.

Ya, I know there are lots of factors, but are there any "official" 0-100 times of VQ35HR auto for reference purpose?

Mine does everything I want and everything I expected, but.......you should probably read my sig.

I doubt there's much difference between the 6MT and the 5AT. The AT is really good based on my experience in cars that didn't belong to me. It's certainly better at shifting gears than most drivers are.

Well even if there where a official time it'd be useless seeing so much will change for you i.e. temp/surface/altitude. Your best bet is to hit the drag strip yourself. What did you use to get this time for your car?

Yup, the 5AT is the best automatic transmission i ever used, considering this is my fifth auto trans car.

However, personally i find it hard to believe that the 5AT has the same performance as the 6MT though...

Well, I was just curious how i searched/googled everywhere but could find neither "official" nor "unofficial" 0-100km time for VQ35HR auto, though I agree with you It might be "useless" to me, but not bad to serve as reference time. That's why they had the manual 0-100 time? to serve as a speed reference?

By the way, what i did was to ask my mate to sit besides me with a stopwatch in his hand, then he started the counting when i started to accelerate from stop. Then he will stop the timer once the middle digital speed hits 100km/h.

Just a little "Off!" for the 5AT haters. Carry on.

No way you could possibly get an accurate timestop.
Prob losing a 1/10 or two just in human error.
Secondarily, you're likely running imperfect equipment -
In terms of the best possible scenario as presented
By Nissan.

Well, I do understand that the method that I used was flawed or inaccurate.

However, one of my friends who owned a VQ35DE auto 350z did the same method and he got 5.8 sec for his 0-100km. How could the so-called human error be so huge. Something must be wrong...

We generally frown on street racing, but have some noteworthy automatic times here: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840...ons-stock.html

Are you leaving it in D? Also, while you are waiting to launch, use your left foot to brake and use your right foot to feather the throttle and try to keep it at 2k RPMs. Let go of the brake, and see if that works out in your favor.

0-60 MPH is for magazine racers. Go to the dragstrip or go home.
