If i were you i'd get in contact with them and send them the money to do so. Other then that you can get in contact with the DMV and state that the vehicle has been left on your property and put in to do a TAKEOVER procedure to get the title in your name.
The MSO "Manufactures Statement of Orgin" is basically a title. When you buy a new vehicle you get the MSO to turn into DMV, DMV will then issue you a title. Most people will never see their MSO, dealer take care of most of it, most typicaly get the green/pink slip to bring to DMV.

MSO = Manufactures Statement of Origin. Most consumers never see this document because as soon as a new vehicle is purchased it (MSO) is sent to the DMV for titling and registration. The title is then sent to the lienholder. Since the car was new when I purchased it and I was overseas, I did not have to register it in the states. Besides that, the company shipping the car said the MSO was needed for customs to import it....and Nissan wont send me a frakin DUPLICATE!!!!!!! I cant really be mad at them though; I lost the damn thing in the first place.

Did you get yours from Browns Nissan? Thats where mine shipped from too. Sorry you had to cough up all that scratch to get your car. My bank let me take it overseas no problem. The shipping company just needed a letter from them that said such....lucky me 'cause I didnt have an extra 30G's laying around!

No I got it new Dec 08 from Pomoco Nissan in Hampton. I used a shipping company in New Jersey to ship it. I used to be stationed at Fort Irwin 1997-2001 during my Army career before I retired. Gotta love that drive to Barstow from the Fort.....

Re-vin coded? I think that is exclusivley for stolen cars...

(ree.VIN) v. To erase a stolen car's Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) and replace them with new numbers. Also: revin.

Looks like im not the only one this has happened to. I found this on a Honda website:

I have lost/misplaced the original Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO). How can I obtain another copy?

Duplicate MSO requests can only be made through the original selling dealer within 12 months of first retail delivery. Your selling dealer must fill out the proper form and send it to our Dealer Sales Desk department for further assistance. This service is available to dealers only.

Finally found the answer!! My wife and I spoke with a DMV supervisor here in Cali and he told us all we needed to do was apply for a bond with our insurance company and the DMV would be able to title the vehicle. Bond was only $200 through USAA....not sure how much Cali is going to rape us for the title though
