Raceboy, ESPECIALY on a black car, if you think a little seam is goint to stick out, wait till you see how bad chips and scratches stick out! The picks 350zFreak just put up were a bit low res, in reality the line is not at all jagged and almost invisible unless looked at from that angle of straight down with a reflection on it, you can tell by that first shot of his front end that the kit is nearly undetectable when veiwed from a regular angle. In any case, come out to LA next Saturday and see how it looks on some other Zs, I'll bring an extra kit for you in case you change your mind
Just an FYI, My best friend and my wife both asked me where that "clear bra" thing was. Neither one of them noticed it until I made them get up close and take a look. In reality you cant even notice the line unless you distinctly look for it at multilpe angles. To each their own but I feel so much better following all of these f**king trucks around Texas knowing that their wake won't kill my bumper and hood. My advice-go see it in person & decide for yourself.

Steve (raceboy),
I hate to say it, but you're in for a rude awakening after about 6 months. Nissan's paint, much like many others, is vulnerable to excessive paint chipping regardless of how careful a driver you may be. Black and other dark colors are especially prone to that ugly, sandblasted look. If you need any proof of this problem, take a look at any 2000-2002 Maxima painted black or Majestic blue. Very nasty. The wide expanse of painted surface area on the 350Z bumper is going to make even worse for Z owners.

Jeremy (Krinkov) is offering a great deal on one of the premier 3M film products (X-pel design). I'm ordering the kit today. (No, I don't have any affiliation with his business.)
On the other hand, I'm not taking any chances with my incoming silverstone 350Z. It's going from the showroom to the garage for the 3M Scotchcal film immediately.

interesting that the first paint chip i had on my 350z occured higher up the hood then where the seam ends. Im sure it will give you protection but the chip ive received was above 18 inches north of the top of the xenon light on the passenger side.
Steve,
At least do the front spoiler/bumper where most chips are likely to occur. You can skip the hood and fenders for now. You'll hardly notice it on the bumper like you will on the hood and fender. You've seen my car with it now over the course of 2 years and you've gotta admit my bumper looks like new. Once you hit open track without one your bumper is toast.

There will always be some instances of chips and scratches occuring elsewhere on the car that our kit does not cover, obviously, but it is not practical to attempt to design a kit and charge the price it would cost to wrap the entire car in film
Our kits are designed to protect the frontal impact area of the vehicle, where 95% of all paint chips and scratches occur. Please dont let this discourage you away from using a paint protection film kit, on the contrary, with the new, weaker, enviornmentaly required waterbased paints now manditory on new vehicles, more chips are certainly just down the road.
