The base model is the only one that didn't come with the VLSD.

I just HAVE to comment on this thread and the comments from those who are putting the RSX in the same league as the Z. I sold cars for 21 years---16 of those selling Acuras. I LOVE Honda products and I love the RSX. I have been driving Honda products as my daily drivers since the 70's and currently have an Accord coupe. My other "toy" car is my 05 Z with 9700 miles on it. The RSX S is indeed a quick car, and the Vtech is fun, but won't come close to the Z. The Z has so much more torque. There is NO compararison.

actually at first i thought the rsx comments where serious until someone mentioned its a joke until one pulls up at 100MPH and vtec kicks in... then i just loled cause at 100MPH or any other high speed vtec is already on in a rsx, since i own a honda and all my friends are just honda crazy and they own rsx-s and civic si's...i guess i matured of the making an econo car fast, and now i want to own a real sports car, i recently went to a nissan delearship and no matter what i said they wanted to get me on a brand new 370z and i have to admit the car is very nice but im just starting out fresh out of college, i dont want to get in a 35k+ debt for 6 years, so im still looking out for a used 07 350z hopefully red, a non base model with less than 60k miles and my budget is 17-18k you guys think this is a realistic goal?

Dude splurge and get the 370! haha but realistically, it really depends on how much you KNOW you can handle money wise. Does you new job pay enough for you to have a 300-500 a month car payment? Will that hurt you at all financially? Will you have extra money for other things such as entertainment/car repairs/anything else you want to do or buy? I'm sure certain you can find an 07 z with those miles in your price range. Just look around.

Keeping an eye on the New Owners forum you will see plenty of Zs with less than 50,000 miles. And the previous owners have cared for them with pride. My recommendation is to shop for miles not model year. In other words a 2005 with 40,000 miles is a better deal than a 2008 with 80,000 miles. Happy shopping.

Don't they teach the use of periods and the proper use of capitals in college these days?

You're right on to be careful about taking on debt at this point. In fact, I would suggest that you don't take on any car payment. Wait until you can save enough money to pay cash for a car. You already have a car that I assume is paid for. Car loans are truly evil things that suck up financial resources. A good rule of thumb is to never take a loan out on a depreciable item and a car is the best example of a depreciating item. This is all the more true when you are just starting out setting your financial life in order.

(Full disclosure: I bought a boat last year and financed half of it. A boat, even one like mine, is a depreciable item. However, I have the cash available to pay off the loan at any time. I'm also not fresh out of college but am well established financially.)
