That's like saying, "My mom pays for my car because my hair is brown." The hell?

Maybe you should be in a car you can afford and stop suckling at the teat.

False.

My parents have lots of money. They own 4 cars and 2 motorcycles. Yet all of my cars have come from my own personal money because some of us don't like handouts, even from our own parents.

So...yea. Anything worth over $1k I have full coverage. Lesson learned, move on.

Back on topic -> Your best bet on making money will be to part it out if the car is as bad as you were told, but you DEFINITELY need to take it to a shop to have them evaluate it before you do anything.

Heaven help our education system. You are in college and don't use correct punctuation. Hopefully, you will take some English Composition classes so you can express yourself in a competent manner once you graduate.

Seems like OP has a lot to learn...and looks like he's on the road to learning the hard way.

Find out how much its going to cost to fix. By the look of it, your BEST bet is going to part it out. Take the remaining money and pay off the loan (if not paid off already) and then go buy yourself a vehicle you can "afford" to drive....meaning you pay the monthly, gas, insurance etc.

Time to get your big boy pants on.

look man get off your butt and get a damn estimate b4 coming to the forums and asking dumb questions like we know what to do for you. if you do not want to pay for the car sitting in your drive way then let insurance total it out. Either way till you actually get some type of confirmation no one will know.

so if you keep sitting online asking bs questions...just send me the lights.

I believe the original poster stated he only had liability insurance. If he had a loan, the bank or finance company would have required collision and theft insurance. His mother was apparently trying to cut corners and save a little money by not paying for full coverage. That decision will now come back and bite him (her) in the behind. I suspect this must have been a salvage title Z since he said he only paid $7500 for it.

Sometimes you can get away with liability only but like you stated it will come back to haunt you. Most companies will add the difference in payments to the remainder of the loan when they find out...

what can i say loan companies don't like giving young adults sports car ever since the economy took a nose dive. Back when the banks were happy to give out loan i would have probably been able to get one for around 10%-12% interest.

I was posting from my Iphone so that is why some of my words were changed. The 350Z was not a salvage title it had liability cause I didn't owe but 900.00 on the car. And its not that i couldnt afford my Z, you have to remember I just bought a 1994 300zx Twin turbo with 90,000 miles on it and both of them were in good shape. Both cars got the best oil, tires, parts, and etc. Besides she offered to pay the insurance I understand i should pay my own insurance but i help pay other bills and etc so she just wanted to help since i was a good kid, I made good grades never get into trouble with cops for stupid things like drinking or smoking. So for everyone that had to give up there car cause they were doing 120mph down the highway those are things my mother never had to complain about. So like the other guy said stop hating.

On the other hand I told another shop to go look at the car and they said most likly it is totaled. Based on what happen and how the pictures look it can be fixed, but with 140,000 miles its not worth it unless im going to keep it which I am not.

Escort shifter ZR4, Newer Blinder system, or if you're a baller...Laser Interceptor.

(That will take care of your laser problem....Unless you jam them all the way down to the gun, in which case you will get pulled anyway)

Right, she gets to deal with single vehicle accidents in the rain that total the car. I was 17, alone on the freeway (except that pesky CHP officer I passed) and I learned my lesson and lived to tell. I hope you learned yours.

I forgot the point of that story was my Parents came down on me like a ton of bricks (deservedly) and I made the right choice by selling the car and staying in their house, taking my punishment like a man and accepting the consequences.
