Default Targa Top

I was thinking Nissan should build a Z like
the old Supra, with the Targa top.. That would be
kind of Hot
Not everyone wants a drop top.
What is your opinion ?

Default you mean like this...

yeah... it'd be pretty sweet. Wish they would do this. I'd rather have it than a convertible.

I would buy it in a heartbeat, but most everyone else would ***** about the added weight. The Zo6 is only available hardtop because they saved 300lbs without the extra support for the removable roof.
Like I said I wish they'd make it as an option. A targa top really is the best of both worlds...........fun in the summer, yet completely warm in the winter.

Thanks... I wish I could take credit... it really would not be a difficult PS-job... but I did snag this photo off a forum many months ago. Liked it so much I kept it.

Oh... and I did talk to really good body shop here in town about doing this as a custom. But they basically told me it would ruin the integrity of the car. You'd have to do a custom from the ground up to keep decent rigidity and have the Targa... and that would cost a lot of $$$$$$$.

Don't forget that the Z06 is also not a hatchback like the normal hardtop. It has a much smaller rear window, which saves a lot of weight (due to much less glass). I much prefer the normal hatchback design over the Z06 design.

Now, I'd love to see a hardtop Honda S2000. That would be sweet. Imagine how light they could get that sucker by eliminating the convertible parts. (Even though it's already light.)

If Nissan made a 350Z targa top, i would buy it in a second!!! It would look so much better than the roadster and would pretty much look like the coupe with the targa top on. That would be sweet!
