Gameover...My advice to you is "Don't give advice". To answer the question...Unless you want to damage you relationship with you parents at such a young age go with the SE-R. Having a Z comes with a lot of responsibility...and don't tell me you're not gonna want to take all the Z'z horses for a slow trot. The Z was built to run. Besides the obvious reasons, insurance and so on. I can already tell you'll be more comfortable driving the SE-R. Get that young man...Your parenets will save a couple of bucks and you'll still have a new car to boot.

if you wont feel safe in it, then this definately isnt the car for you. If you're looking into the se-r, i would definately recommend you look into an Acura RSX-S. They're fun, cheaper than a Z, and pretty safe while remaining sporty.

I have an SE-R Spec-V and I'm 18. Let me tell you, it's the way to go. I don't know what your financial situation is, but look at it this way. Would you want a high-profile car with high insurance, low gas milage and a high monthly payment? Or do you want an awesome and still quite rare car that's practical and affordable? Its a good thing to have a nice brand new car and still be able to freely spend money on other things. Nobody wants to empty their pockets every month for their car, no matter how much they love it.

Here's the numbers on my Spec-V:

MSRP $19,200 but I only paid $17,000
$10,000 down payment
8% interest
$267 per month for 36 months

It's the perfect car for you, so go ahead and buy it on Monday and be happy...the Z is good enough to wait for. Good luck.

Another nice thing about the Spec V is its ability to carry more than 2 people. I know that when I was in high school and college it was great to have a friend with a 5 seater (or even a minivan).

Get the SE-R. Trust me, some day you'll thank the members of this forum for giving you this advice.

I have a Spec V and though I bought it as a third car I wind up driving it a lot. It is a very fun car, can't be beat for the price.
