Default Buyer advice

I'm looking to buy a used 350Z with no more than 30,000 miles. Not sure what model year yet. Just wanted to know if there are any issues with certain model years that I could get any info on?

Thanks

07 or 08 would be ur best bet.....they really made em good for those years and got a lotta the problems out with the older years....i gotta 07 and my only complaint is the noisy clutch at idle.
03's had tranny and tire feathering issues.
04's tire feathering
05's not bad but the annivers. Edition along with the 06 revup engine had oil consumption issues. These are just some major known problems and obviously differ vehicle to vehicle. I know 2 people with 06's....one burns oil one doesnt....another friend has a 03 with no tranny problems....these are just more common problems but it doesn't necc. mean that a car is always going to have those problems. If you search around a little you can find some more info.
You may also note a stock hr motor (07 and 08) would perform just as well as a de platform with multiple bolt-ons....

What is your budget?

03 to 08 all have feathering issues, its only a simple alignment. These cars don't hold alignments for crap, and the 03's left the factory not properly aligned.

04.5 and newer come with a much better spring and damper package. Doesn't matter if your going to lower the car anyhow.

03's 6MT cars had trans issues, but plenty of them had the trans replaced with the CD009 trans under warrenty. 03 to 08 have all had trans issues of some kind, luck fo the draw, and its also how the car was driven. Slam shifting ricer style kills the trans quick.

05 anniversary and 06 6mt only had the rev up motor, luck of the draw with burning oil. Some do , some don't.

07/08 have a weak clutch slave design.

Definitely go with an '07 or '08. Like the others have said, they resolved a lot of the issues that older models came with, they have the HR engine which comes with beefier internals and put's out more power. Also, they come with the the nicer hood (in my opinion). That, and they have the updated true-bixenon headlights and LED taillights.

Not sure what your budget but you could also take a look at Nismo's.

Good luck!

That's awesome. You can definitely get an 07-08 with that much..and you could probably find a Nismo if you're patient. I've seen some on eBay listed for low 20's.

07-08, get with the brembo brakes... or a used 09 370Z with sport package.
