Default What are you planning / Suggestions

I was reading through super street magazine the other day and noticed a section where people submit photos of their cars, tell what they have done, then the editors offer some suggestions for future mods. Thought it would be a cool idea to try on here. Hopefully it won't die in a troll like fire...

So here is my car, currently sitting bone stock except for a shift ****... lol

Future Plans:
Dropped on Eibach Sportlines until I get coilovers
Volk TE37's
Invidia N1 exhaust

Then figuring out where to go with performance mods.

John

Good luck... My car is above the readers ride area but not feature quality. Your parts list as nice albeit average but nonetheless clean... I'm sure you can get your ride in the readers rides section.

I'm not looking for opinions... just what other people are generally doing, and what they have planned.

2004 Track

Current Mods:

Nismo R-Tune Headers
Nismo R-Tune Cams
Nismo R-Tune Intake
Nismo R-Tune Thermostat
Nismo R-Tune Clutch and Flywheel
Nismo S-Tune Suspention
Nismo S-Tune Front and Rear Sway Bars
Blacked out 18 inch Volk GT-Cs
Custom Headlights with 8K HIDs and Eye lids
Custom LED Side markers
Brembo Brakes
Brembo cross drilled rotors
Hawk Racing Brake Pad

Next Mods:

Whats next/in the works right now. Building my custom 3inch HKS Ti Carbon Single Exhaust setup along with the worlds 1st Built RB30DET 350z Setup. I will be parting out the VQ and all the other motor mods after we install the RB30. Looking to make 800hp to 1000hp range with full boost at 3,500 RPMs with a Single Turbo HKS TZO4 setup along with a 3 1/2 inch Custom HKS Intake System with a Full Carbon Fiber casing with a Cabon Fiber Strut Bar and Carbon Fiber battery and brake fluid covers. Also making a custom Trans mount to use the our stock 6 speed trans which will also be getting a full rebild to handle the extra power, so no need to go out and buy a RB25 trans. As far as exterior mods go, im only looking to get a set of 06+ headlights and black them out and also a set of 06+ LED Tails, also looking to repaint the car as the stock DB Color, black out the emblems and throw a Mines Carbon Fiber Front lip on and put some Carbon Fiber B Pillers on as well as a Carbon Fiber Air Duct. Also going to throw some Spacers on the Volk GT-Cs to give it more of a flush look, might go with a 19ich Volk GTC setup to fill in the fender and a wider rear wheel to keep the extra power on the track. Keep it clean and sexy, not into the whole body kit/Ricer thing.

Pretty cool idea for a thread. This could almost be like a basic listing of everyones cars and what direction they're going with them... Anyone with a build thread should include a link to it in your post!

ANY REASON IN PARTICULAR YOU WANT TO GO W AN RBDET VERSUS AN RBDETT? THERE ARE SEVERAL OF THOSE IN EXISTENCE ALREADY.. IS IT JUST TO BE THE "FIRST" OR AM I UNAWARE OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT YOU LIKE ABOUT THE SINGLE TURBO VERSION? just curious was all...

About this thread tho...

in a perfect world.. or about 4 years ago.. would be a cool thread, but i give it 1 more day until emo 17 year olds ruin it, period.

Unfortunately it will quickly become a circle jerk dreamers thread about xxr wheels and illest stickers and plasti-dip door handles.

The sport has two distinct followers now:
those who bought new for 35-40k..
and the kids that bought new this year for 13k w over 100k miles on their cars.

IM sad i have to say so... but yal know its true:

SO.. inb4itgetsretarded.

08' NISMO.

Bought completely stock.

I have installed a GReddy Turbo Ti-C TD Exhaust.

This is how it was when I put it away for the winter.

Winter's plan:

GTM TT & OS Giken Clutch & a lighter flywheel.

Hopefully run like that for the summer, following winter hopefully pull the motor and replace with a built something.......

Ok, to to further discourage those certain offenders from "contributing " limp wristed mods posts, i too will pull out my ****, drop it onto the table, and show it everyone.

not a dreamer list, this is all purchased and paid for right now.
i think im at about 20k spent on this go around. haha.

built DE/single FI,
500 -550 daily on pump gas maps, 6-700 hp e85 maps...
dependent on if my clutch will hold it.
I aint going 6 puck til i have another car to drive in the spring.
CP pistons 8.5:1
ARP head studs and ARP main studs
Cometic head gaskets
Crower Sportsman rods
Crower valve springs and retainers

New wheels, Forgestar F14 20x9.5 and 20x12 running 325 25 20 Pirelli PZero Nero in back
Elia wing, imported from Germany ( same as lester wing)
removable top section of the WRX style wing allows the use of a giant APR GTC500 wing for functional days

false floor sub box for JL 13TW5
Alpine reverse camera
Seibon carbon fiber door panels w custom suede work to match the rest of the car and keep my arm from burning in the summer

removed greddy led strip ( meh)
moving from an STI lens to a better sti-r lens
replaced 10k garax bulbs w 6k bulbs.. the blue got old.
replacing with three daisy chained halos inside projector housing for iron man effect
added a pure white AAC fully visible halo to the outside of housing as a drl, switches off when parking lights or headlights are turned on

Well i know there are several Rb30dets and RB30detts out there but i will be the 1st 350z in the world to have a rb30, i know a few people that have a RB26dett 350z and a RB28dett but no one with a RB30. I wanted a single turbo for a number of reasions, one being if i do deside to take the car for a long distance drive i wouldnt be in boost as much as i would if i went with a smaller TT setup, like a Twin HKS GT28 setup or something similer The HKS TZ04 is more of a mid RPM to High RPM Turbo which is exactly what im wanting for Highway pulls and track use. The RB30 bottom end gives me more trq to help get the turbo to spool up quicker in the lower to mid RPM range then the rb26 or rb28 stroker ever would and with my built R33 or R34 RB26 head i can still get the 9k to 10k Revs the RBs are so well known for. I will also be replacing all my stock triple dash gauges with a set of DIFI gauages and making a custom carbon fiber dash gauge to hold the Skyline gauge cluster so wiring will not be a *****

Just wanted to say, I REALLY like the idea behind this thread.

Here's my 2 cents.
Got my dream car fully stock with 73000 on the odometer.

Absolute first mod was my S2000 antenna. Best 20 bucks ever. Started the itch.

Here's where I stand now.

Goals: do all work by myself. Grippiest, non outlandish but classy exterior. While Muscular. Resemble this flat black 996 in fitment. Powerful NA sound and responsiveness. Boost with great responsiveness and moderate power.

~What I have~
S2k Antenna
JWT Popcharger
15% Tints all around
19 inch Wheels with meaty tires (I want grip man!)
Stance Gr + True Coils - Front and rear camber/ Toe arms and 15 mm spacers
Muteki extended Lugnuts

~What is in the Works~
Upgraded SPL Steel Bushings
MRev2 plenum + spacer

~Future mods~
Veilside 06 Lip
Blacked out 06 Headlights
Remodel interior
SGM Longtube Headers Possibly
AAM Y pipe/Test Pipes/Agency Power Single Exhaust with Bumper Tuck
Uprev or Cobb Tuner ( must do homework)
Upgrade LSD

Final step 2+ years. Build engine and Boost>>>

You can do some searching on your own, too. Click on someone's name, view their public profile, and check both their "About" tab and their "Garage". This is where folks list the mods to their vehicles. You can also see pictures of their cars in their "Albums".

Also, that 996 is OM NOM NOM material
