well...im going to hong kong with my dad on business
im going mid march for 10 days
his company used to have offices in japan but not any more
he knows im a car modding junkie so im trying to convince him to go to japan for a few days
i was wondering if it would be much easier to get parts their
meaning..if i made a list can i just go buy the parts?
where in Japan are most of these aftermarket shops
any help would be appreciated
and if anyone has anything on their wishlist that isnt too big i really wouldnt mind getting it for you (assuming i go of course)

go hit Autobacs, you will not be disappointed. You can probably get a bunch of convex mirrors and sell them here, they have a wide variety that i have never seen them been sold in the US (like mine, CARMATE). I'm pretty sure a bunch of guys here would buy them, they are universal and fit any car, unless you have the mirror with the control/dimmer crap, because then the mirror is taller (up/down-wise) and it won't fit because it's too much.
sounds like your first time going, be prepare to bring a translator. most people there doesn't speak or understand english.there are more shops in the OSAKA area. look for ones like AUTOBACS or COCKPIT. lota shops there doesn't stock parts, they usually need about a week to order. you prolly gonna spend a fortune just on taxis, it starts a about $6.50US first km average taxi ride($25)US. if the driver understands where you're trying to go! have fun if you do go.
