American or Japanese made?
Ok so I did a little searching to spread some light on my question but could not find anything on it. My clutch recently went out on me and i ordered the ACT Xtreme Racing 6 puck clutch disk for my 2005 350z Roadster. We tore the transmission out and replaced the old disk with the new out it all together and the disk would not disengage? we tried adjusting the fork on the clutch pedal and also bleeding the system, to no avail. We decided to tear it all back down and took the pressure plate and set the disk in it tried to turn it and it would not turn it would get stuck somewhere we couldnt tell. We called this Autopartswarehouse.com where we ordered the part and were asked for the VIN we gave it to them, and were told that our problem was there are 350z's made here in the US and some that are made in Japan and imported to the US and that mine was one that was imported. And the ACT clutch disk i ordered was only for the US made cars and the Japan cars are completely different to the US, does anyone know if there is any truth behind this statment??? Would that explain why the clutch disk would not work with stock pressure plate?
okay so would you have any clue as to why this set up is not working? I know its probably stupid to use the stock pressure plate but i was told the oem clutch disk was useless and didnt have the money for the ACT clutch kit. When you set the disk in the pressure plate and try to turn it it just grabs to something on the inside and will not turn either way but there doesnt seem to be anything that could be stopping it.

So would the japan car be any different from the american, i just dont understand why they would be and why my ACT disk will not work on my stock pressure plate.
Generally pressure plates, depending on maker and what they decide to do when designing their clutches. But they will make the pressure plate a different size, or the shoe (rotor, whatever you wanna call it, friction area) will be a different thickness, etc. They creative things to work within their kits.
You might not be able to use the clutch disc with the pressure plate.
You could of also put the wrong side of the disc towards the flywheel. Did they have it labeled as to which side faced which way?

every 350z was made in Japan, there is no such thing as a US built 350Z. All 350Z's worldwide used the same clutches
simple solution - call ACT and ask if that disk will work with a stock pressure plate
