Default Time to vent some...

Well, recently I bought my 03 Z touring edition. Things were going excellent. just paid her off recently, insurance wasn't bad, and I was getting ready to finally do stuff to the car (I bought her myself, my own money, no help from mommy and daddy, im 20) well, i just recieved a letter in the mail stating my car has a salvaged title and that my car will have its registration revoked February 9... I bought her at a dealer and signed no paper saying the car had a salvaged title and was told by 3 different people that the car had a clean title, my friend was there with me, as was my now ex-girlfriend, also my bank has it recorded them saying the car has a clean title. so i should be able to win this one easily. just super pissed off that i have to go through this bull crap... what do you guys think? this is some effed up stuff.

5 months and no copy of title. I think this entire story is bogus.

that can still have a clean title.

I would think this is on the bank, they are supposed to run your VIN and declare a value on the car when you finance it.

so this entire time you had this car, no one has said anything?

Go back to the dealership (if you have your loan paperwork, it should state clearly that the title is good, there is a box that must be checked).

also your loan paperwork

also your DMV tags and registration

make sure you have all this and go to the bank/dealership and .....

storm in there and make a scene. Im serious, if you go in there and act like Mr. Im OK, they will treat you that way.

I would say someone has falsified legal documents and someone is going to pay.

Also who is tellling you that it has a savaged title? WHo ever that is has known for some time.

many people dropped the ball but I would start with who sold the car to you in the first.

Also, this all might be an error. so challenge the folks telling you its salvaged and ask for proof and date fo the day it went from clean to salvaged and why?

then get a lawyer if all roads lead to no where.

Also I think this is worth of taking ONE day off work to go to the dealership, have them BS you around, the go to the bank and have them BS you around. Then finish off you frustrating day at the DMV and have them show you when this car became salvage.

All it takes is one digit to screw up a VIN number. there are a bazillion z made especially the first few years. Make sure the VIN matches.

go outside and write yours down like 10 times to make sure your paperwork is right and matches the car you drive! Someone screwed up, but this maynot be a big deal at all man.

if its not an error, definitely time to lawyer up. I'd threaten to talk to a local newspaper or media outlet. The threat of bad publicity for the stealership may get things done.

good luck OP

Just turn it into a track only car and tow it everywhere.

This is the interesting part. The lender would want to see the title before valuing the vehicle and extending a loan. After all the car is the collateral.

^ This.

One of a few things that seem a little "off" about this story.

carfax is not always accurate. in fact, a lot of times significant matters are sometimes not inputted.

easy win for the OP though, if in fact you did not sign anything that would otherwise jeopardize this.

If your registration is being revoked for a salvage title... How did you get registration in the 1st place?

Go to Dept. of Motor Vehicles make copies of all your paperwork.
Open a case have them start an investigation you may not have to
pay a lawyer. hopefully you have bill of sale and all other paperwork.

Carfax is very unreliable. Obv any cash paid items won't show
Nor will recently fixed items turn up either. Unfortunately you're
At the mercy of reality here. At the time the Carfax might have
Been spotless. It's a little late to demonstrate fraud.
