OP, you can always get a paddle shifter for your AT Z. Then you will have fun.

Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't. Honestly an auto is fine with me. Daily driven about ~18k a year... I'm just gonna throw a transgo kit on there and maybe some paddle shifters!

I 've heard from a Nissan guy that in the past 2 years of Z sales, the purchases to females have doubled.By a vast majority they want AT.
Sales roadsters/conv to females is also dominant.About 90%AT.
Nissan want to sell cars.Has to go with the market.
In addition, all the folks screwing arount, texting, cell,GPS,tablets etc.,
chicks putting on make up,who has time to shift!

I know a guy with a 700+whp Z. It's an auto.

Then again, he blows transmissions up with ease. fyi- Unless you're an idiot, you won't ruin a transmission by learning how to drive stick on it. You'll probably burn up the clutch faster than an experienced driver, but if you drive with any sort of respect for the car you won't break the transmission.

i don't really care about Nissan's decision to target the female market by making AT's available to them, my point is a true sports car should remain manual. semi-auto cars don't count either for me no matter how much performance benefit a DCT or getrag SMG offers for example. don't get me wrong i like girls who drive Z's and other sports cars but the ones who can successfully master the skill of hand and foot coordination while operating a 5spd or 6spd sports car makes them much more attractive imo. i also like the type who don't require a lot of makeup either.

What a load of crap...

I guess Formula 1 cars aren't true sports cars either? Heck if you continue with that line of thought i guess formula 1 drivers arent even real drivers. Theyre driving autos..

Actually F1 cars use semi-automatic sequential gearboxes. Full automatic gearboxes aren't allowed on F1 cars.

F1 cars are not sports cars. They are race cars.

I'm glad I got an auto, that way I have an extra hand to change my tampon while I'm driving.

Love my auto, and transgo kit going in this summer to take care of the sluggish shifts. Even on the track it's fine, because I just use manual mode to keep it in 2nd/3rd/whatever the track calls for until a straight. Only thing I wish I could do is downshift 2 gears at once

i went half and half on the car with my dad. He refuses to drive a stick so if i wanted a Z it would have to be a automatic ;(
I love it though, theres times where the road is all mine and i wish i could just pop the clutch

but then whenever im at the horrible stop and go traffic on my way to school im glad i have the automatic

soo i dont really regret it
its still a badass car
