To get sponsored you have to pay a one time fee of $99. You get a carsponsors.com sticker.

Compeltely agree with this statement!

do your research... for instance less than a minute into the terms&conditions on the website...

"We offer a 30 day refund policy. If you are not satisfied with your sponsorships, we will refund your agency fee less a $29 application processing fee."

So yeah you lose $30 but you didnt lose the full $99 (if i'm understanding that correctly... )

Call your credit card company and ask them to return the payment.. I work in banking and we do it all the time.. Im in canada though, i dunno what the laws are for that in the states, but you have nothing to loose, and 100 bucks to gain back lol

I didn't even realize carsponsors.com was still around. I remember seeing stuff online about them years ago haha.

My advice is to just call your bank and have the transaction reversed. You don't have anything to lose, if you want the $99 back.

I guess you live and learn. Generally though, you should always do research before doing anything that involves "free stuff" for a one time fee. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Most likely, you won't get your money back, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Ok, I've delt with a similar company about 6 years ago. The company I speak of did very very well. They were sold, sold again and then ran out of business about 2 years ago. I paid 90 bucks for the "sponsorship." Basically I paid 90 bucks to get a discount on parts, up to 25k in discounts. 99% of people don't seem to read the contracts. It talks of discounts, not free stuff. Some people get free stuff, yes, but most do not.

So, after I got my contact back and began to order parts. These parts were for a Nissan 240sx. At this time (6 years ago) there were NO knock off eBay parts for the Sr20. So, they helped me get my hands on a 97 180sx typeX sr20det engine/tranny etc. I got a pretty good discount. Over 200 bucks. So there, my initial 90 dollar buy in is now covered. After another 5k in parts I had saved more then 600 bucks from all kinds of companies, like Greddy, Koyo, Permacool, Garrett, etc. So it worked out really well.

Now, this company I speak of is NOT the one you speak of. I personally do not know anyone that has delt with this company and had a good result. The discounts I got were basically as if I had a dealer account through that 'say' company (like greddy). Basically 10-30 percent off. Adds up if you order a decent amount of parts.

The days of these companies doing well for someone, seem to be long gone. With the introduction of so many suppliers on eBay selling all the same parts, it's nearly impossible to get any more of a discount then if you just ordered it off eBay. And, getting it off eBay is faster then waiting for the part to be drop shipped from whatever company it is coming from. Hell, took me almost a month to get a greddy fmic, bov, cold pipe, and misc stuff from greddy back then. But, back then the parts at a local shop were a whole lot higher in price. Now, well, around here...there are ZERO shops that sell performance parts...
