Default What are some things I can do to my Z at home without buying parts?

I'm thinking more along the lines of cleaning, polishing, painting, etc.

I'm tight on money right now so I'm not really buying many parts for the Z right now because of school, so I just thought I would do some things to restore the 9 year old Z. I had to dish out $1,500 for a 16 day medical academy last week.

Some things I have done so far (regarding looks) is painting my strut bar, painting brake calipers, taillight tint, painted the rock chips, sanded and polished the muffler, did a bumper tuck, restored the original shifter boot leather, painted brake and battery covers, , engine de-greased, etc.

*BTW I'm a PS freak, so I always edit my photos before I post them anywhere

Everything is nice and all. However, did you do the cardinal 350z sin and paint calipers that weren't a big brake kit?

that too^^

OP there really aint much. to be honest, it looks like youve done ok at not going over board.. the tendency is for guys low on cash to do too many things to the car that actually make it look worse, ie, painting things.

Black your emblems, spray your wheels, buy some spacers, and get some Megan drop Coils off ebay for 100 bucks.

Your car will be 100% changed and itll cost you 350 bucks total to do it.

Nice job on the bumper tuck btw.

Well here's how my brakes turned out.

I also wrote a DIY on how to paint them a few months back.

You could've gone with the ZeeToyz aluminum or polished finisher for that ****. It'll look good imho.

There is nothing wrong painting stock calipers to match or compliment the car. the purpose isnt to say "Hey Look I got Brembo's" its to compliment the ride. Let me guess putting daylight running LED strips in the front is also a cardinal sin right? if so i guess u wont be being the new Z where its stock. To each their own.
I 2nd the wiper delete. It costs 3$ all together and takes about 45 mins.

Oh yeah, that sticker. While funny, it should be removed. Shouldn't have "Nismo" stickers on a Z that is not a Nismo.

There's a ton you can do for free

You can:

Drive it
Wash It*
Park it
Stare at it
Watch it
Glance at it
Drool over it
Talk to it
Sit in it
Sit on it
Sit around it
Search the forums next time
