Mods with warranty
You can mod anything you want on your car... As long as it doesn't cause something to break and they can prove it was the aftermarket part that caused the damage...
I've even heard of people that have test pipes/hi-flow cats and they get a new engine due to oil consupmtion...
I had lowering springs on my Z and they still fixed the axle click, they just noted it on the service write up that I had aftermarket springs...
As long as the mod doesn't cause a failure on your car, you're good!

Pretty much what SdZ33 said.
But it also depends on your dealer. Some can be real **** about it, others can be quite lax.
There's a local dealer that's built a good reputation for taking care of modified cars up here. Doing warranty work etc. As a result they get a lot of business from the people with modified Infinities and Nissan's. Its a win-win for both the dealer and the car owners.

There can't be too many 350Z's out there that are still under a factory warranty. I don't think any of the factory warranties exceeded 5years. If you are talking aftermarket warranties, you need to read the fine print and see what they say about modifications.
I swear there was literally this EXACT same thread the other day.
You can do ANY mods you want while the car is under warranty. The dealership and Nissan can NOT deny a warranty claim based solely on the fact the you've modified your vehicle. They must prove that the modification is what caused the damage that you're requesting warranty coverage for. So if you install lowering springs and the engine blows up, the engine will be covered. Now, if you install lowering springs, then try to get Nissan to warranty your lower control arm bushings, they'll probably try to fight you. In that case, you could try to argue that there's been plenty of stock cars with LCA bushings fail. If you install lowering springs and try to get Nissan to replace your shocks, then they have the right to deny that.
Oh, and there's no such thing as a manufacturer being able to void your warranty. They can deny individual CLAIMS, but they can't just void the entire warranty.
Read the Magnusson-Moss Act.
