Default new car---dumb question?

Ok, this maybe a dumb question, but im gonna ask it any way!

just bought 08Z on friday, been noticing a rattle under hood during braking or over speedbumps. upon investigation i find this little gray box hanging by wires from pass. side MAFs on my K&N dual air intake, wired in with clips. It says nothing but "GForce" performance chips. further google search reveals ....wait for it...60HP gains and 4-7mpg better!!!! for only 69$ So my questions is..."is this a DumbAss chip? if not, (pretty sure it is 60hp for69$ is far fetched) ...should it be hanging from/ wired into my MAF port?

My instant idea is to remove it and go for a drive!

Other question is: Could this have anything to do with my code for coolant temp too low/ temp stuck on open loop it seems?

350z's don't use chips. Yank that sucker and go punch the previous owner for being a douche LOL. Not a dumb question since you're smart enough it seems not to fall for that crap.

Good work, the previous owner was obviously very gullible.

You might want to inspect the rest of the car throughly just to make sure he didn't buy any other worthless items from Ebay

GForce performance chips is a secret that few know about. Why don't we keep it that way.

Any chance we could trouble you for close ups of the circuit board?

Its a simple resistor that does absolutely nothing. Might want to check in the bay for an electric supercharger or a turbo fan.
