I don't know, that is why I ask. It is either a simple question with a simple response or someone else posting stupid **** cause they wanna sound cool when in all reality that person doesn't know either. So... post up your "He is an idiot" when more in likely you don't know either.

Master Baiter.

No, but you'll need new rings apparently because it's gonna start consuming oil.

oh, no, I still have my stock ECU, I was just wondering if this was true. It would be a cheap upgrade if it did.

I am talking about the main ECU on the car. Not some chip that you car ECU will reset after a couple of months. I am talking about the brain on the computer. Or when they did the upgrade from the 05 to the 06, did they change the pistons? Or did better honing of the cylinders, What gave the 06 that extra 17hp? I know a little, Im a HD tech, I know bikes, not cars

No the ECU wont work. The 06 uses a VQ35DE rev up which is different from your engine.

Try searching before creating stupid threads.

I thank you, still a simple answer would have sufficed... 10/10 for the simple answer 2/10 for smart *** remark afterwards.

I would get a Nismo 370Z ecu for the most HP. Corvette Z06 would be another great ecu option

What's awesome is, for once searching really probably wouldn't have provided this kid's answer.

Mostly because it's too stupid for anyone to ask...

Actually, the reasonable person would read through the FAQs (Top 100 Questions for example) to see if they could find out something about it. You have to figure if such a simple swap would yield an easy HP gain, it would be one of the most commonly discussed topics here. There would be a shortage of late model ECUs because everybody with older cars would be snapping them up.

the de and de rev up are two different engines if you look up pictures you can see the difference so the ecu will not be compatible because of the differences after all it is called rev up for a reason there are cheep ways to get that 17 hp gain such as cold air intake and exhaust which is cheaper then the ecu depending where you find it so save up and get the parts that you know are compatible
