In Japan cool Japanese parts?
hey robbie, I was in japan all of December 2011 and Jan 2012 and I found that the US dollar was so weak that buying parts in Japan is actually more expensive.
A new basic nismo shift **** normally $50.00usd was almost $ almost 7,000yen or about 60 -70 dollars. Now imagine how much a real engine part would cost.

I just went exploring today and found an autobacs it was like Autozone with more flashing lights. I bunch of stick on accessories 1 muffler a whole isle of cup and cup holders and about 60 sets of 14" wheels...I wasnt impressed. I was thinking i'd walk in at there would be awesome stuff everywhere sadly that wasn't the case.
I lived in Tokyo, Japan for 3 years. I used to shop at up garage all the time. Preferably I rather buy the performance parts in the states. However the things our 350z doesn't come with is the Electric Folding Mirrors that came standard on all JDM Z33's. It's hard to find the mirrors at up garage. You have to go to a local body shop and request for them to search the local junk yards for those parts.
For those of you that can read Japanese...here is the up garage website. www.upgarage.com
Enjoy!!!

Find an UpGarage. Used parts store, nice place. Will ship an item to their store if you find one elsewhere from their website.
Screw Autobacs. Overpriced place.
Amuse and all the specialty companies... prob gonna be too expensive for your taste.
Since you're in Japan, look for some old Nismo parts. They're usually much better priced than sourcing them from the US.

So jealous you're in japan! I had such a blast when i was there. I didn't think about looking for parts for my car since I figured by the time i ship it back it would be a bit expensive. I was in Yokohama. if you're ever there go visit the Nissan Show Room! At the time they had all the generations of Skylines out.
Dude, I'm on Okinawa. Military? If you've ever seen a white BNR32 around, that would be me.
The UpGarage on island is a bit lacking... mostly catering to SR, 1JZ, and piddly box cars. If you want, find some stuff on their website. They'll ship them to this store.
