Default Looking at a Z and have questions (sorry)

First off, dont kill me! I know there are a lot of these threads, I have searched and read a lot of threads before making this one.

First question, I know 3 and 4th are bad in the 03's. But what about 5th? Im looking at one that has a slight grind into 5th ("only when running it hard" owners words)

Another question is I have heard complaints of overheating problems in traffic. (heard this from someone who races them). Is this true on the street?

Any other insight you guys might have will be helpful!

Thanks in advance.

First off, I wouldn't buy a Z with grinding gears from someone who "runs it hard". My guess is you will end up replacing something expensive very soon.

And I've never heard of a Z overheating in traffic. How would something that crappy every make it off the assembly line in the first place?

Do you even own this 03 Z?
I don't think they, or most cars, should be overheating in traffic.

My 06's clutch gets stuck in traffic when its warm outside, so yes something this crappy made it off the assembly line.

I have had mine overheat in traffic a couple times, 120 ambient temp , 160 degree road temp, sitting still and cranked AC. I live in Vegas, it have happened only a couple times.

Yep, getting new clutch and stainless steel line see if that fixes it.

I purchased a 2004 new.
I'm on tranny #5. Nissan finally got it right with tranny model CD009.
Yes, I had one lock-up in 5th gear. It was replaced under warranty.
Yes, I had a "radiator" problem. There is a re-call from Nissan that covers this. There are two electric fans in the Z. There is a possibility that one or both might fail. One of mine did, and the only problem I noticed was no cold air (air conditioning) unless I was moving. Nissan replaced the faulty fan even though the Z was out of warranty.
