Has anyone actually upgraded their base stereo yet? I'd love some info as to what you did. Thanks.

 

I am interested too. I have my components picked out; speakers, tweeters, sub & amp. I am going to stick with the stock head unit though, It just fits so nice. I am hoping it will be good enough, I don't need anything crazy.

 

I agree, I'm keeping the stock stereo for a cleaner look at this point.

Actually my car will be at the stereo place getting all of my stuff installed this Friday and Saturday. Here is a recap of what I'm having done. I will hopefully have some pics and updates on Sunday.

Headunit: factory
Speakers (door and rear): Boston Acoustic 6 1/2 (want to keep factory look so not doing components right now)
Sub: custom sealed box is being built in void where Bose sub would go. (using a JL 10W3)
Amps: 2 MTX amps, one under each seat.

I just hope it will sound good!

 

5 channel mdx amp and a 10" alpine sub woofer the shop is going to seal the sub with that silver stuff oh yeah dynomat dont know the specific type will get more info im not a music junky so the brand names dont mean too much as long as it sounds good
have to wait on the rest of the speakers till later my wife has cut off my Z spending until we win the lotto or i just have another great month sellin car so if you need and i mean need a Jeep or chrysler call me
