right, and they even say that this new TT G will be built along side the GTR...

i'm referring to this comment,
"..our main powertrain will be a Nissan developed direct injection engine based on the current VQ series engine block, but with a totally redesigned head unit."

Id love to see the next gen Z have a small 6 with twins, making somewhere around 410HP at the crank. Keep it right around $31000 for a base model too. Godzilla now has 545HP; so I dont think a 410HP, 2 seat, rear wheel drive will be sales threat whatsoever.

That is exactly what I would like to see, that would be awesome. I imagine the folks that spent 15-50k to get their Z TT'd wouldn't be so enthused though lol.

I wonder how weight/efficiency would be of an aluminum, boosted inline-6.

Nissan could go with the Infiniti M hybrid-motor that makes 360 HP and gets a whopping 32mpg!!! That would be down-sizing without losing too much "marketability" because people are stupid and always want to see a car get fatter and bigger every year!

Ask BMW... they're the only one's that are currently using the technology.

The next gen Z will stay true to its roots. It will have a 6cyl engine maybe with a turbo for more HP. The Z has always been a heavier sports car and I don't expect that to change. I would like to see the base go up to 40 - 45k range with more luxurious finishes on the interior just like the 300zx's.

Only if it stay's it its current demographic and that would be very foolish... a smaller sports car would definitely do better than the current market entry.

We need to continue with the same **** that works...add some displacement. 390z anybody! Add some HP /tq ie 380/330tq real world numbers and minimum increase in weight...(like under 50lbs)learn bc we HATE weight! Keep it soft touch and interior /exterior quaility up to par (not cheap plastic and scratchable surfaces) @ 35k base....that would be a normal progression ....I personally want ro see a 400Z tt....with 450hp/400tq to beat up on the new Neo muscle cars and the M3 type euro cars.

when are we due for another Z? I want an S line resurrection completely separate from the Z.
The next Z should be no more than 3200LB and a V6 or I6 hopefully FI with a good amount or torque at lower RPMs
And no more making the engine bigger. Thats just what i think. and yes i would love for it to be able to run with the 5.0 and M3 in a straight line. Of course woop the stang on a course lol

I think there are two different but overlapping things in play here – market competition and making a light weight sports car. Manufacturers use different models to compete in different market segments. That’s why Nissan has the different lines - SX/Z/GTR. The Z and the Toyoburu is not meant to be in the same segment or price point. All makers, including Nissan, will have to do their market research to determine which segment they like to be in, and which model to use. To compete head-on with the BRZ, it seems to make more sense to bring back the 200/240SX. For the Z, Nissan needs something to compete in this evolving segment for the future. It can be lighter, hybrid, a combination, or something else. And there is always Costs. To bring back the SX, it takes R&D $, same applies to bring in a new Z. Nissan will have to, and will, choose carefully.

Wow, that's kind of small-ish. There goes all the room for a lunch bag and a case of beer. Going to Zdayz will never be the same w/o extra room for libations.
