Personally, I would never drive a Rustang. Sorry.. they do absolutely nothing for me, except remind me that trailer park moms need wheels to get to the grocery store.

350z's are fairly common, but still have a great deal more "Ahhh" factor to them. Clean it up nice and people will still ask if its new.

ok the ***s with the s2ks are exactly that. ***s they have hondas point blank. beating them in a race the supercharged one you will need to be modded. the hr you asked about is the engine. in my opinion i own a 03 z and love driving both daily and on the track never had a problem when i run into a s2k. for me i would go with and evo. it has more space and is faster than the z and the s2k. and if you get the 7,8, or 9 evo they have the 4g63 engine in them and they are bullet proof and are very easy to modify and get great power out of them. good luck.

What did you run? A slightly older mustang GT vs a DE/rev up z stock for stock is a drivers race... Add bolt ons to both and the mustang will take it.

OP HR is the motor in the 2007 and up 350's

it wasnt in the 1/4 as much as i hate to admit it wasnt on the track. He was being a ***** so i turned into one too. I thought for sure the v8 would take me top end up he tried to pass me (cruising about 65) i let him get beside me when i downshifted and pulled on him... bash away for it being on the street

I went from owning two GT mustangs to going to a z. Now the z was a TT Z32 but when I had an 03 GT I never lost to a 350z. Sorry but true. I had too much torque and my hp was about the same. So going from a V6 to a 350 would be a huge step up. Unless you just got a v8. I have a love for both Nissan and Ford and I loved my mustangs and My Z. I no longer have either and its really hard to decide what to get back into.

Pass up the 350Z and get a new 5.0 Stang. I just can't get enough of those new Mustangs.

Sorry to hear that you drive a 6-cylinder Mustang. Takes a real man to admit that. One who is sure of himself and his place in life.

I dislike mustangs more bc of the drivers.....they think they are seriously the ish and rev at me all day long. Gets on my freaking nerves.

Everybody and their mom has a mustang, but everybody has Z now also. They are both seen everywhere today.

The evo's have really grown on me. Ive always like the s2k but they have always been just a little too small for me.

Personally, I will NEVER own a mustang.....unless it was the one in gone in 60 secs.

I actually owned an 89 GT once. I had it for 6 months. This was between Z's when I was exploring other cars. Never again. I like new technology. I've seen some Mustangs which I wouldn't mind driving or having in the garage.

But yeah, they are way too common (at least the V6 version).

VQ35HR motor. Found in the 07-08 350z. Married with 3 kids? Stick with something with atleast a back seat, if not a 4 door.

Well I already have a family car like i said. I want a good looking car as my DD to and from work. I like the EVOs but even an older one is a TON more than a newer 07-08 350z. Once again affording a 5.0 mustang is just not possible. Plus im getting tired of the mustang because like everyone said...EVERYONE has a mustang. It seems like every other car here in New Mexico is a Mustang. I see 350z's every so often and rarely if ever see a Lancer let alone an EVO. While I would love an EVO they are just a bit outta my price range. I think a 350z is a good steping stone from a V6 Mustang on my path to evenually getting an EVO.

Is there a major difference between a normal 350z, Enthusiast, touring, and grand touring models or is it safe to just get the basic and mod from there?

Just realized your location. Hek, come to my location and Zs are like civics. It's ridiculous.

I just noticed you're located in NM, too. I used to live there and still visit ABQ. There's not a lot of Z's in NM, so there's a plus.

There's plenty of differences among the models/trims.

What can you afford?

I was going to say the same thing. My Z can poop and any stock mustang (with the exception of cobra and mach 1). The new new mustangs are a different story but the old ones have teh slowz.

And being in the military myself I see tons and tons of Zs on post. However a tastefully modded Z is very rare around here.

well trading in my mustang would net me around 10k and I i could put down a few thousand and finance the rest of it. I really dont know the differences or the average prices but if im not mistaken an 07-08 350z is around 17-20k.

Stock for stock the HR pulls a little on the GT (pre 5.0 gt's of course), with driver mod being the biggest factor.
The 350z's style I think will stand out and look pretty good for a long time, just like the 300zx's still look pretty good today.
Honestly the 4.6 V8 GT engines are pretty awful in my eyes.

Idk why some people are bashing s2k's, those things are pretty damn awesome cars... I use to think they were a joke, but until recently playing in the mountains with them... they are actually quite ridiculous with the right driver O.o

Grab an 07 to 08 Z, you will be happy, much better car than your phony pony.

Z vs S2k on the track, depends on the track. I tight course the S2k will kill you, but if the Z can stretch its legs, it will walk away. I play will the S2ks all the time on the track.

Yeah I thin getting a 07-08 Z is the right move as well. I love how they look and after some mods it will only get better from there. I guess the hard part is just finding one now >.<

I'm siding with the Z. I have one, so of course my answer is biased...but then again, I'll take any JDM car over the Neo-Muscle America produces today (Especially Mustangs, because I just damn-well hate them). Muscle cars died in the 70's, and besides, as pointed out by everyone else, everyone and their Grandmom has a Stang. Go around and show pictures of a Mustang, and a 350z to random people. I guarantee you 98% will know what the Mustang is, and maybe half will know what the Z is...Z's are a different kinda car, and require a different kind of driver. Are you that driver? Think before you buy. In the end, it's your money and decision. You're going to be stuck driving whichever you choose, just remember that. Sleep on it.
