Opinions Wanted: TT the Z or Trade-in for Evo IX/X
Now as far as having funds for catastrophic situations, I really dont, but I do have a back up car.
And no car payment does sound delightful.
Also those of you thinking why I might want a faster car for whatever reason. I mean i'm more mature now, before, I was pretty wreckles with my civic doing street races and stuff betting money. Well i'm over that stage in my life. I'm still up for going to the track. but idk, having a fast car is something i'll never get over. No matter if I actually use it to its full potential or not. but you have to admit, it is a good feeling knowing u have the power to go fast when you want to.
In your shoes I'd go with the evo. Ive never been able to get comfortable with the idea of a non-built FI DE.
I'm in a somewhat similar situation myself, trying to decide if next summer I should TT my 07 350 with 18k miles or trade it in for a new 370.

Steve this is a really bad idea, I know what you have been going through and no job is certain.
I would set aside these thoughts for at least a year and see how the new job pans out. The last thing you want to do right now is put yourself into debt after being out of work for so long.

THIS is why i LOVE this site! ...
As far as rightnow, i'm thinking of keeping the Z boosting it soon, paying it off and enjoy it for the mean time..and hopefully within all that time passes, evo x's drop in price..because not having a car payment does sound great to not have for a while.

Just pm Crom or Chebosto and ask their opinion.
They both have built twin turbo Z's and modified evoX's as their DD.
FYI OP if it was me, I would keep the Z since its almost paid off and get the turbo kit if you *must* go FI.

will do Dikspiel,thanks!
and dont know if u were being sarcastic about the Juke jomamahama but I dont have the space to own 2 cars, unless i want to have one parked out on the street, which I really wouldnt want to do.

I can say I've owned both and The Z is a fun car! I had an EVO VIII on coil overs with bolt ons and it was fast, just lots of maintenance! Around the corners though they both have their fun in their own way. The Z comes swinging out when you want while the EVO grips and shoves you in your seat. I can honestly say the only thing that would make me 100% happy with the Z is a little more power. That will come here soon though
Here's a pic of my rides...

But if you absolutely must do something, turbo the Z, get a good tune and keep the boost low.

I like buying ish like every other person out there, but I like to have 'certainty' of having a steady job/income first. I look back at some buying/going into debt farther decisions I almost made, but glad I didn't because life happens not according to plan.
I have driven TT/ST/SC Z's and many different EVO's on the track.
If you want to go fast in a straight line, get an EVO.
Both the EVO IX and X feel considerably heavier than the Z when you try to make the car "dance". The IX's feel sharper than the X, but the X's AWD system is better at covering up mistakes.
The FI Z's I've driven just can't hook up like the AWD's, even with 315 race tires on the TT Z.
Depending on setup, the Z's generally feel more willing to change direction/transition than the EVO's and (the Z's) are subjectively more "fun" to drive IMO..
"Delivery" wise:TT > ST regardless of car. The stock X's turbo comes on smoother than the IX but neither of the EVO's (or any of the SC/ST Z's) deliver power as smoothly as the APS TT I drove.
