Default No more Z for me :/

I really love he car and everything but 2 seats is starting to kill me now. It's awesome when I'm just rollin with a chick but it sucks when I want to take the family out. I love the car, the looks, the way the nismo exhaust screams when I step on it, the handling and everything. I'm kinda sad I didn't get to modify it or anything and sad that she only has like 28 thousand miles but yea, the 2 seat deal has gotten to me. I wish the car had 4 seats (and I don't want to convert it like I've seen some people do). But yea, although I didn't post much thank you guys for helping me out
I plan to probably get an 04 STi, can anyone tell me how the switch will feel from the z to the sti?

I know that feel bro. I wanted a Si and G, but the deal I got on mine couldnt be passed up ($19 for 9k miles). I really grew to love the car and have big plans for it.

What's your situation tho? What do you mean by family? These are things you have to think of before purchasing the car. No one else in your family has a car?

And.. It's possible to convert to 4 seats???

Or have a girl with a 4 door. My gf drives an 08 avenger.... not much to look at or ANYthing in the power department, but i have fit 4 19" wheels w/tires, AND 4 tires with room for a little more! My gf said if/when we catch teh marriage and kids plague, we don't have to get rid of el Zederino because she wants it when I move on......no plans for that in the future so the Z stays!!!!!!

dont get n 04 sti
first year made here and i would stay away

for DD, its just way too tight on the suspenion.
try for an 06-07 if you can, even a wrx of that year.
it will roll alot more in the body and not handle the way our Z's do, but they have their perks...
space, AWD, turbo..
just a differnet beast from RWD v6

Why not get a G? About as close to a Z with 4 seats as you can get...

If you are looking for an old STI, don't get the 04 STI because it doesn't come with an immobilizer and it has the weaker 4x100 hubs. The 05-06 STI's are the most reliable years, while the 07 STI's are prone to ringland failure.

I had an 05 STI before I got the Z. In terms of daily driving, the STI was rough on stock suspension, and required a few downshifts to avoid turbo lag around town. The Z is a better car to drive daily due to the readily available torque and smoother ride, with exception to having only two doors and a small hatch.

I suppose but I heard that the G's are More expensive to maintain than the Z's and more problematic as well. But I never looked into them so I honestly wouldn't know

I don't like the hawk eye look from those years and I don't want the hatchback versions. But the sti I plan on getting has upgrades and whatnot with receipts and passes compression tests and all that

Sounds good but seems like a hassle for all that though

I have a civic as a DD but I'm sick of having 2 cars. Too much hassle and I hate that it's so slow. I don't want to swap the engine and all that so I'd rather sell them both and buy a nice fast car that sits more than 2 lol. But thanks for the advice. I really plan to get a z again wayyy down the future once 2+ cars isn't a burden for me

Well I got it partly cuz it was a good deal too. 20k miles for $16k. And no family issues, Just the main reason is cuz the 2 seats deal. I did think of all that but the price was too good to pass up as well

Well the one I plan on buying I think he upgraded that to prevent the problem. It even has a stereo installed and I know the 04s didn't come with one. But idk, I'm still doin my research but thanks for your input. But honestly the roads aren't rough around where I live so I don't think the ride quality tmshould be too bad

even if you did the 4 seat conversion I believe it would be illegal to have anybody sitting in the back. Jackson only did it so his dog would have somewhere to sit. There are also no seat belts and the most important part leg room. The driver and passenger would have to move their seats all the way forward just so you could turn your feet sideways to get them under the driver/passenger seat.

As far as getting something else with a back seat I'd either look at a G or if you can an M3 would be the one ride I wouldn't mind switching too

Well instead of a G or M3 or any of those, what do you guys think of this s14? Has the gtr engine, has back seats, and is still Nissan?

G is a far more practical and comfortable for the people in the back (not a 2+2 just - it's a 4 seater), especially if you want to take a group/family. It's newer too, so easier to obtain parts, and if you love your 350 so much, very similar car.

05 sti was much improved over the 04 and still has the nice front facia and headlights. Read up on thw differences.

So you have a family but you also like "rollin with a chick" i dont get it, or are you looking to pack mom and dad in the car and take them out for a nice dinner at Denny's?

Doesnt seem like much of a family car to me...You said you wanted something with more room in the back for family, yet you are looking at a 15+ year old turbo`d car? $20,000 is quite a bit...

I think the G is the most logical choice considering how much you love the Z. Same engine, same sporty style, same reliability. M3 would be my second choice, always loved those cars. Granted maintenance is a lot more on them.

I dont think you really know what you want and maybe you need to re-evalulate what you're looking for in a vehicle. Price, reliability, looks, space...In the end, its your decision.
