I think the Z drives fine in the rain, but any car FWD, RWD, or AWD can lose traction in the rain. AWD/FWD doesn't = godmode. Push any car in the rain and you are bound to slip.

i live in washington and it rains i think 9 months out of the year, even in the summer

be responsible, buy good tires

get a Z with traction control and stability control, and leave in ON

I live in Vancouver, where it rains more than 60% of the entire year. As others have already said, if you have the simplest common sense when driving in the rain, you will be fine.

The only thing that is a bit more sensitive is the rear tires. If they are near 20% tread, you'll need to replace.

I too live in Vancouver, and can vouch for the rains 60% of the year. lol. It sucks. Its all about the tires. The OEM tires are great in the rain from personal experience.

The only time i ever slipped in the rain was after a super hot week, and then rain bringing out the oil in the road. The car slipped while make a down hill turn, but damage was minimal besides a busted up wheel.

I have little experience driving my Z in the rain as it rarely happens where I live. But whenever it pours all I have to do is go easy on the gas, it's that simple really. I guess the Invo's are pretty good all-around tyres.

Like Clon and Arvin I live in Vancouver, where as already stated it rains 60% of the time. The other 40% of the time is filled with snow and ice. I know nothing about driving and rely on my Z’s great instincts to get by. After 9 years of daily driving the Z has never slipped or skidded. I live on a super steep hill and when it snows I keep a towrope in the trunk. As my Z is often called upon to tow police cars, fire trucks and assorted front wheel drive cars up the slippery hill.

OP, You will be fine in the rain. I run Yokohama Advan AD08 extreme tires which are more geared towards tracking and don't have alot of tread. Yokohama actually states not to use in rain, but I have drove them in rain a couple times, a few times on the highway as well.

My point, a 350z is fine in the rain as long as you drive reasonably. The reason someone crashed is they were probably driving like a jack a$$.

Find out when they're having a drivers Ed event in your area and take it on the skid pad. Any drivers school will have one

um rain and snow make the car so much more fun when you wanna have some but other then that if your actions are smooth shifting speeding up braking switching lanes dont jerk it around then you have problems

Same type thing here, I typically run NT05s or others like that and have managed well. Last summer i drove a set of 75% worn NT05's to Texas. I rained from Flagstaff all the way to Armarillo TX. Just have to watch speed, drive smooth and be smart. Just like people with cars before all the electronic gizmos in the past.

Z's are an absolute blast in the rain. Especially when sideways on a on ramp. But then again i know how to drift so for the unexperiance driver in a Z in the rain it would suck lol

Also, just put some decent tires on your Z and it will be more than FINE in the rain...(DD'd a Z for a 1 1/2 years, rain, snow, etc.)

At the SCCA Runoffs last year, the T2 race was in the rain. Because of the impending rain, the driver that I was working with switched from the Mustang he qualified P3 with to the 350Z he had there, and had to start last (24th I think) as a result. He finished 3rd behind an AWD Evo and an AWD Acura TL Type S.

The 350Z is perfectly fine in the rain.
