LoL This has got to be the funniest thing I've read in awhile. I thought I was the only one who was starting to dread closing my door due to the shock. Its starting to get alittle ridiculous.. I think I'm gonna sell it and get an S2000.. LoL Nah, this is funny that theres a thread about this tho. Gotta love forums.

are your seats clothe or leather? clothe generates static, especially in the cold. cold=dry, therefore, dry creates lots of electrostatic.

I have leather seats. I think you are generating the static from rubbing shoes on the carpet. This is exacerbated by the cold weather. Whomever posted that the person has the charge and not the car, you are right about that.

What I do is to just bump the outside of the door handle with the heal of my hand and then just push the door on closed with it. I still get a small spark that I can hear, but it doesn't hurt since it's at the heel of my hand and I touch it quickly. No big deal.

Pavlovs Dog at work here. I cringe and jump back even if it doesn't shock me. It will be interesting this summer. "Hey man, why you be jumpin back when you touch your door?"

Good idea, but those wrist straps must be clipped to a grounding source...

I used to always get shocked, but now I just hold on to a metal part of the door as I put my feet on the ground and get out. Problem solved. Do the same thing and you won't get shocked.
