So, my girlfriend has had her eye on a Z32 for some time now. In fact, she has been dying for one since long before I bought my z33.
I wasn't specifically looking for a Z, while I have always thought they were pretty cool, I just came across it when it came time to buy something to replace my mustang.
She's currently stuck in a 07 tiburon financing term and as soon as our house finances allow, she'll be seeking a 300zx.
She's a bit upset with the fact that I acquired a Z before her when she was the one of us that was so into the line while I was was merely interested.
She completely understands that I didn't intentionally steal her thunder and is excited for me that I have a car that I love.
She is consistently understanding of the situation but as a girl, she is a understandably a bit upset about the timing of it all; however, she can't help but feel as if she should have been the one of us that should've been driving a Z first which I completely understand and sympathize with.
We have every intention of finding her a decent z32 when the time comes and we are financially able to trade cars for her.
She is pretty knowledgeable about cars and is concerned about being misconceived as a typical girl driving something she has no business driving.
P.s. She will gladly stab anyone in the face who tries to challenge that. She's hardcore like that. and I love her for it.
Long story short, what do you guys think about her getting the z32 she so badly wants as it pertains to her not wanting to look like she "copied the idea from me" when that isn't the case?
I know that what other people think is irrelevant as long as we are happy driving the cars that we've chosen, we'd just like to hear some of you guys' thoughts on the matter.
We seriously look forward to being a little Z family either way.

I can chime in on this seeing as that i have been a Z32 fan since i was 5yrs old. I had a 1995 z32 NA and it was a nightmare to work on and to keep running good after that i got a 03 350z full bolt on it was quicker then the NA and alot more relaible i never had to work on my 350z in the 2yrs i had it. Along the way i bought a z32 TT that had 90k miles and it gave me more problems then my 350z with 130k. If it is gonna be her only car dont use that car as a primary car.

What lame thread.
Who the h-ll care what your girlfriend drives?
If she's got the money let her buy the car she wants.
Man,you could have stated this nonsense in one paragraph.
So,its probably for a laugh for you and your lady friend.
Are you guys still in high school?
You act like it.

glad someone remembered me lol, dont listen to the haters man, but why a 300? I wouldnt recommend it, if she has an 07, why not trade for an 06-07 350? doesnt make sense to buy an older car with most likely more problems

First, I'd like to explain that I was pretty drunk when I posted that... my bad...
The two of us were sitting around talking about whatever when she said something to the effect of 'i dont resent you for it, i'm just a little jealous that you got a Z before me'.
Knowing that she's really upset about her personal financial situation right now (her financing term and some bills that predate our first introduction) and trying to offer the moral support she needed and having had a few (already sitting beside the laptop with my350z.com pulled up) i declared that I would tell the world that she had the idea first so she could cheer up
seemed like a good idea at the time...
That line was my effort to turn the post into something forum appropriate rather than a blog post which didn't work out as well as it seemed to have at the time.
So, I'm sorry for wasting anyone's time with this stupid thread although I do really appreciate all of the genuine responses I got- I'm actually surprised by how rude some of you guys' responses were...
As for the 300zx, I know they're a ***** to work on but I hadn't heard that they're particularly problematic before aside from what you'd expect from a 1995 model. There are quite a few out there for sale with less than 60k mi seemingly in decent shape. I'll mention to my girlfriend that the general consensus here was that the z32 is more trouble than its worth and have her look more into that herself.
!Z!, thanks for relating and giving your two cents.
and pbgrep, thanks for the supportive comment.
