Droid, is it a pain the keep the 18's clean seeing that you can see thru the wheel to the inside of it? You have to wipe the outside and the inside behind the spokes, right? It's worth it for clean wheels though! Keep it lookin' good!

BTW, where's your car, man?
Zaino the wheels! ...or something to that affect. Then you can use an air hose to blow off the dust. lol. I assume all model Z's will have the break dusting.
Still waiting on my Z... -m

Welcome to the wonderful world of brakedust. This is one of the things I hate the most on my BMW. Next time I do my brakes, I'll be going with Axxis dustless pads. I know of a bunch of people that use them and love the fact that they could go literally weeks without even thinking about wiping down their wheels.
I'm not sure if that company has anything available for the Z yet, but it's worth a look.
BTW, brakedust just means that you're REALLY enjoying the car.

Imagine that, I got Chrome 20's on my Brickyard Touring MT, I got fans walking up on my car wanting to dust the front wheels off withthe shirts off their backs. Thats how bad it is. They have even said that your car is beautiful, can we do something about them rims.. I only have 970 miles, & Treecy is just 2 weeks old today, Thursday, the 12th of September..
Yeah I had no idea that brake dust could be so bad! My wheels get black in a day or so. What kind of cloth can you use to wipe them down without scratching them? I'll be zainoing them this weekend to see if that helps!

And no J Ritt, I won't be doing any racing whatsoever. Only "Show & Go" for me!
But I seriously will explore pad options out there. I have EBC greenstuff on my GS and yes they dust, but not nearly as bad.
I am really starting to wonder about people on this thing.. No disrespect, but is it that many people on here that would go thru the trouble of photoshopping some wheels on a car that isn't really on the car just for the attention? I really am wondering if putting the picture on here was a mistake because I have more people that do not believe it than I have that do.. I even have people that walk up to me looking at the car & say that 20's will not go on here. Now that I think requires a special kinda person that would be able to read the numbers right offa the tires, in person I might add and still say that 20" will not go on a 350Z
Besides going with a harder material for pads and producing less brake dust, what about buying AEM pads that are more of a grey color so that when they do shed the dust it's much harder to see grey on grey rims. Just a thought.
It's not that I don't believe you, I was just asking. After I posted that question I saw several other threads where you posted other pictures of your Z & the 20"s, so my mistake. I just did not expect to see a 350Z on 20"s, especially on this website. But again, I think it looks good - much better than the stock wheels (maybe not the Ray's, but the other's for sure).
Regarding the brake pads, my Jetta has extremely soft pads and EXTREME brake dust. I swapped the back (after the pads went out after 12k miles!) pads & rotors for some Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors and redbox pads - result: hardly any brake dust. The front still has the stock setup and still needs to be cleaned daily. But as said previously, soft pads usually go hand in hand with great brakes.

Hey guys this is my first post here. I dont have a Z or even have one on order just think they look and drive awesome.
Anyway I have 97 Integra GSR with EBC green pads. They dust ALOT less then my oem pads did. And recently I have taken to waxing my wheels along with the car. I just use P21s wax on the wheels and it seems to keep them clean for a lot longer. Anyway guys gotta get back to work so that some time this decade I can afford a cooler car.
PS I really like my car just understand the difference between the 11k that I paid for mine and a 30k dedicated performance car.
