Default Starting to get disenchanted with the Z

Well, my Vortech V2 started leaking oil about 2 weeks ago. I've been slowly taking it apart these past 2 weeks about an hour and half a day between work and school. Changed the input seal, cleaned out the bpv, currently cleaning the intercooler and piping from oil being leftover inside.

When I started fixing it I was thinking how much I'm gonna miss driving it. Been driving the wife's car Lexus ES350 and I don't really miss it at all. I actually drive faster in my wife's car than in my car. Less attention and quieter and I don't have to deal with retarded Mustang drivers coming up beside me and revving at me if I pass them.

The Z has just been a real headache lately, every little noise or squeak makes me think something is broken or in the process of breaking, the fun of going FI.

Made so many trips to advance auto, buying strap wrench, renting pulley remover, bought a serpentine belt tool. Now I have to buy more oil and a filter since I had to drain the oil because of removing the oil feed line to the supercharger.

I think I might just part it out after making sure everything is working properly and get myself a G37 coupe or a 5.0 and call it day.
I just had to have the 2 rear tires replaced because it failed inspection, $460.

Crappy cell phone pics warning, wife is on vacation and has the camera.

Here's her current condition.

Bonus:
Blacked out, Sti lens, halos, red leds. Don't even want to install them anymore, thinking about the pain in the *** of wiring them to my switch.

sounds like its time for a different car.

seems to me like you have more headaches with the car than you enjoy it.

It's a love hate relationship, when I actually have time it's a blast taking it up to the mountains hitting the curves. The turns are so tight that sometimes my power cuts out due to the fuel going to one side.

Plus my wife hates my car and she's one the that bought it for me. She told me when she bought it stock that I was not to do anything to it and I agreed. Thousands of dollars later I should of just left it stock.

You probably wouldn't want them, the lenses are kind of jacked up. During the summer there was tree sap on the lens and I didn't clean it off for a week, left little stress cracks where the tree sap was. I still have to hook them up and make sure the halos and led's are working correctly.

Regardless of what everyone says, painting the headlights are a pain in the ***, I chipped the paint twice just reassembling them, had to prime and paint it twice. Disassembling and reassembling is also a nightmare, black goo everywhere, luckily I have goo gone.

I can only imagine how tedious it is to paint the inside of the headlights. I know if you don't seal them good you will have to do it over.

Unload the car to someone else.
The stress is just not worth it.
Sometimes we take a car that at bone stock is pretty
much bullet proof. We add this&that, soon it turns into
a monster.I've found if you always use quality/the best parts,
stay away from buying used stuff,do good maintenance, the car
will be as trouble free as it was in stock form.
Maybe buy a Mustang.
Stop the whinning.

So today I figured I would wrap everything up, bought oil, cleaned out all my piping. I wanted to test out the headlights to make sure they work.

Left good to go. Right side, halo does not work. WTF I bought them early this year, I don't have the receipt to return them. Ordered another pair since you can't order them in singles and will tear down the right headlight again.

At least I can test drive my car to make sure everything is working again. I mount the blower and the pulleys, then I realize I can't put the belt on with the supercharger mounted, there is not space at all. I kid you not the rev up blower takes about 30min to mount and unmount the blower, waste of an hour.

I put the belt on and.. it's too short. I bought a GATES K060930. In the install manual the only belt specified is the Goodyear 4060935 93.5in. The Gates belt is 93 5/8 which is little over a half inch. I am going to call Vortech tomorrow to get an answer and get a piece of string to measure the distance just to make sure. Headache continues.

Also found out that my Cog Belt tensioner was installed wrong by the shop. Here is how it was installed.

The correct way from the Vortech FAQ:

where do you buy your headlight parts?

You can mount all belts with the vortech mounted. I used to remove the cog belt with the bracket on as well as the main drive and ac belts.
