Base stereo vs Bose

I have narrowed down my choices to the performance model and the touring model. I want to keep the price around 34k so that would mean, the performance with the NAV system, or the touring with no NAV.
Now that we have that out of the way, I've concluded that the decision all revolves around the stereo difference. I've read the posts on this message board concerning the poor sound quality of the bose, and I don't want to get into that debate. I'm looking for someone's opinions on the base stereo vs the bose. What's the better deal? Is it worth the extra money? What's the difference in the sound quality.
I've listened to the base stereo and was somewhat pleased.

I have compared the base vs the bose personally..
With my car and colecatz car.
we both agree that the bose sounds better using CD's but the bose fm tuner and automatic audio control is subpar and needs to be fixed which I personally feel will be fixed.

There are other reasons for the Touring... if you want a few luxury items, such as heated seats; leather; heated mirrors; 6-cd changer in-dash; 6-way electric seat adjustments. I cannot remember if cruise control is limited to Touring or not.

BTW, the heated leather seats sound like a good idea in theory, but the cloth seats are really really really nice, and provide extra grip for taking corners.

I should have stated this differently. Is the Bose system worth the extra monay compared to the standard system, or should i stick with the standard system and get the NAV. That's my issue. I don't care about heated leather seats. I never use them in my current vehicle.
Cruise does come with lower models. I sat in a new enthus which had cruise on the stearing wheel.

BOSE in general just plan sucks. The worst part about the system is if you want to upgrade ANTYTHING you will have to replace EVERYTHING. So if you have any inclination to upgrade your stereo even in the smallest way, get the base.
The base stereo is fine, and the thing to remember about Bose is also the durability of it. The past two Z's I've owned at some point or another the stuff breaks (no shocker)...but the cost to replace a single component of the stereo system is not worth it and then you end up have to start fresh on a new stereo...just not worth the extra money to have that.
