Definitely not an animal, there were shoe prints on the car and hand prints.
Pulled out my CSI skills to investigate.
I was parked at a movie theater, pretty urban area.

Also, the car was kind of dirty when it happened.
Decent layer of dust on it which is what let me notice the shoe and hand prints on the car.
So I suppose when they stepped on it, they had a rock stuck in the sole or they grinded the dust into the paint.
Who knows.


Also, thanks for the sympathy.
Only thing I can do now is hope that the body shop will say it needs a full repaint. Or atleast a hood/roof repaint. I've heard stories about people with Zs chasing scuffs all around panels because of some coating nissan did. Maybe they were just bad with a buffer, but still, gotta have hope.
