I was driving home in the rain and I had a 1/4 tank, then 2 miles from my house I see that my gas needle was going down rapidly.. And my DTE was at 66, then a few seconds later it was at 54, then 47, all the way down to 34 once I got home.. I know the gas gauges are tweeky, but this was just weird.. I'm not leaking or anything either. Anyone know what happened?? It's raining also, if that means anything..

Like mentioned before me, gas in the tank splashes around giving a faulty reading. Also the road angle(elevation; incline or decline) will change what the fuel gauge reads.
Whenever I park on an incline the needle will drop but once I get on a flat surface it'll level out. If the hill was steep enough that could easily be the cause.
I had this exact same problem! I had to reprogram my key fob, pump the gas 5X, turn on the high beams, 2X brake pumps, turn off the high beams, then filled the tank, and it fixed it.

Wow! You found the short method for correcting the gas gauge status error. If I only new I would have left off the step where you put the rear of the car on jack stands while holding the gas and brake pedal singing if I only had a brain.
