Dealer says my car will come in "some time in October" but doesn't have a Vin # yet. My question is, about how long before the car comes in should i be able to get the Vin #?

 

This info has been posted before... but I'm too lazy to dig it up.

According to a NNA rep. 2 months after your build month you should get your car. Sometime around the end of the 2 months you should get a VIN.

VIN's are assigned after the car is built and outa the factory. I'm not sure the exact VIN to owner delay time.

So for you (and for me too since I have the same delivery window). I'd say start asking or looking for a VIN mid-oct.

 

The dealer won't get the VIN# until the car is on the boat, on it's way to the US.

 

I know this has been beaten to death, but I still haven't found this out...

How do you know your build month and delivery month? I have received exactly two packages from Nissan, the cool card-stock package and my confirmation... neither of which has the months on it.

Is this from the dealer?

I got my info after I complained to NNA about using my e-mail address to promote their e-bay of VIN# 01 instead of using it to give me info on my order. One of their reps contacted me (how nice of them ) and told me my order number and expected delivery time.

My order number begins with a 'W' which I believe signifies a Sept. build month and Oct./Nov. delivery date.

Your dealer should know your order number or be able to get it for you. If they can't or have no idea how to, just e-mail NNA about it and they should respond in a week or so.

 

I submitted my order, everything, got a "W" order date, no VIN yet, but my question is, is NNA suppose to send me a letter, or package, or anything? So far I recieved nothing, not even a letter on the Z order. Just recieved my reciept I signed which showed my out the door price.

are the Order#'s in alphabetical order? If W is September, then is X in October?
I ordered my car a couple weeks back, but haven't received a Order#. When should I expect an order#? Do you guys know?
Also, can someone please post NNA's email address, where I can write to get info about my order ?

Call your dealer first though and he should be able to point you in the right direction. If not try google search engine with keywords for Nissan North America.

I'm not sure the exact correlation of the letter prefix and build month. From what I've seen, 'W' is Sept. build month. I believe the 'W' order no. are the last of the pre-order batch. I have no idea how Nissan is handling non pre-orders.

I was one the last few to make it into the pre-orders (i.e. I ordered June 23rd). So for shagz... dunno how to answer your question if you didn't make it into the pre-order.

Ricky, are you sure you got your address correct? I got my packages about 1 month after my order. That's weird you got your order number before your package....
