Let girlfriend learn Manual with my 350z. Yay or Nay?
Girls can drive manual transmissions just as well as any guy. I taught my daughter to drive a manual when she was 15. She is almost 30 now and has driven nothing but manual transmissions her whole driving life. She heels and toes like an expert.

It can work. I taught my GF in San Francisco (read: hills) in the Z. Def caused a few fights, but makes for good stories and now we are married so it wasn't that bad.
I don't think it was nearly as bad for the car as what I do to the car at the track.

Yes, go ahead and turn the Z over to your girlfriend. No need for you to hover and fuss about, over-instructing and whatnot. Her other boyfriend can give her a few tips if needed. If I can shift a Z so can she. Half the guys here are dumb as ****, surely if they can manage so can she.
Only big strong guys can tackle a Wooly Mammoth and bring it home to the family for dinner. However, a Z is a much more docile animal who responds wonderfully to the feminine touch.
Girls can be great at shifting gears. My great grandma could expertly shift the cranky sliding gear ‘crash box’ transmission on an old Essex.

Teach her on a rental or friends car like everyone else.

Good luck finding a manual that's not a sports car. In fact, good luck finding a manual . . . . it's a sad time we live in. I don't know anyone that drives a manual non-sports car, and I have never seen a rental with a stick. sigh.

there is a Sheit ton of cars that are manual and not sports cars...
If you are in the market for a new clutch, my answer would be yay. Teach then install new clutch. If no plans for a new clutch, no way. One of my buddies needed to learn to get his parents hand me down car. He went to a Saturn dealership when they were around and the salesman took him to a school lot and taught him. Take her to look at a Hyuandi and see if they will do the same, short skirt or v neck shirt will help
It's a nissan, not a ferrari. If you want her to learn, I don't see any problem with it.
I've a let a few people who weren't all that familiar with manual transmissions try my Z. For what it's worth... I'm still on the original clutch and transmission at 150,000+

Definitely a geographic component -- here in SoCal we sit in traffic a lot so the auto is more appealing than it would be otherwise. Seriously i don't know a single person with a non-sports car with a stick. The more I think about it the sadder I get. Driving a stick will become a lost art within our lifetimes.
Mixed feelings about this. I'm leaning toward 'nay.' Part of that is my sincere opinion that people who are married / in a relationship / dating probably shouldn't do certain things together. Hanging wallpaper, for instance. For Mr. blastoff and me, it was installing a storm door. Wow, that episode nearly ended in divorce.
Learning / teaching MT driving is probably the same sort of thing.
