S2000 is fantastic! I've only driven the manual on both cars mentioned so no input on the autos. I personally prefer the low end torque as I use my 350 everyday, that said, for a weekend blast I'd take the s2000 anyday. The Vtec is very, very fun..

My personal opinion, Autos are fine for regular cars and everyday driving. But on a sports car I feel like it takes the fun out of owning a sports car experience. And I got used to stop and go traffic, all I do is give a lot of room to cars in front of me so I don't have to keep pressing the clutch and going into gear all the time or I completely avoid rush hour traffic if I can. Get a beater like a Toyota Camry or something and save the Z for weekend drives and date night. And the S2000 is awesome, it revs like crazy and it's more agile than the Z but the Z has more brute muscle and force than the S2000, the 350Z is almost like an American muscle car with European looks and Japanese engineering, and I can imagine that S2000s would be expensive to upgrade since they are rare so parts might be expensive. If I were you I would learn how to drive stick first and get comfortable with it to truly appreciate the essence and beauty and engineering that went behind the development of the 350Z or any sports car for that matter. You should also check out RX8s too, they aren't that reliable but those things are fun as hell and that sound omg....And for reliability I would stay away from any rev up Zs, I've read and heard way too many complaints about them burning oil since i joined this forum so 2003-2004 DE, or a 2007-2009 HR is what I would recommend, and regardless if you get a Z or not, DON'T BUY A CAR THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN MODDED!!!!!!!!!! Sure, an intake or exhaust upgrade is fine but anything is bad news bears. And if you can, don't buy one if you know the previous owner was in their teens or early 20s. Good luck with your search.

Very true and i would much rather have a stick that was abused than an auto that was abused. MT is much easier and cheaper to replace.
Really i don't even know what anyone would want a sports car in auto unless they are handicapped. Rowing the gears, feeling in touch with the car and road are all part of the sports car experiance. If that is not what you want, just get a Maxima or something.
BTW, yes complaining about a MT in traffic is very limp wristed. Most experianced drivers, shifting is second nature , very much like walking. Heavy traffic or open freeway, all the same.

have you driven an S2000? Handles like a go-cart, but the engine really doesn't feel like its got a lot behind it. The HP ratings are only at very high rpm's also, and that is very obvious when u drive it. If you are a big guy you will probably feel it even more, because the less HP a car has, the more difference a 150 lb driver vs a 270 lb driver makes.....
