We are keeping our wheels. He wants his and i want mine. He wants to trade because his brother had an rx8 with a turbo, but he totaled the car and now he has a $5000 turbo just sitting and he wants to boost my 8.

I asked him about the problems 03's have and he said:

The crank position sensors were replaced with the tune, and he has a greddy oil cooler and has never had any oil loss.

He said it dyno'd at 326hp

Can someone estimate me how much more expensive 350z insurance would be than rx8?

i dont see a huge problem with the trade, i mean obviously id check the car very good..i have considered trading my G35 coupe for a rx-8 to get the 3rd door now that i have a baby and dont use the G much because of the fact of putting a car seat in the back..would be much easier in a rx-8..some people just want change..who knows..

Get it checked out by a mechanic before you consider a trade offer. If all checks out, then I'd say go for it...

a dyno doesnt tell u this..a dyno tells you whp..that was my point..he is fabricating this and that tells me maybe other things are fabricated...I would ask for a dyno sheet which you will be able to see the actual numbers and the a/f reading and all that..

He said he does have a dyno sheet.

The exact quote was:

"I have the sheets, and it maxed at 326/302"

Who is your insurance company? I'm 23 and pay $240 a month for full coverage.

There's no reason with those mods he should have injectors that size. He doesn't make that power either. Full bolt on Z with a tune make close to 300 crank max.

I am with Direct Auto Insurance. I haven't had any problems with them. When I had my 2006 350Z Grand Touring, it got totaled in August due to flooding from Isac. That claim took about 2 months and a few days until I could get another Z. That's pretty much the only problem I had with them.

My HR (2008 VQ35HR engine) put down 276rwhp/248lb ft torque. I have intakes and exhaust, but no tune. That would make some difference, but not that much, I HIGHLY doubt it has that power, but I could be wrong, but doubtful. My buddy has an 04 Z with FULL bolt ons, tuned and Dynoed by "church" here in CA, a dyno notorious for reading very high. He still barely broke 300rwhp...I think 300.2 after 3 pulls of 290ish.

On to the wheels...... If your wheels fit like that on the 8, they are going to be CRAZY sunk in on the Z....like, looks like a SAAB 92(google that). So unless you are going for the hellasunk look, you will need to spend money out of pocket to get some 20-25mm spacers(~$200 easily) or pay to get wheels that actually fit the Z(~$1500 easy for similarly styled wheels)

On the plus side, I WOULD say the money you save on gas in the Z would compensate on the money owed for insurance, but with injectors taht dump fuel into the engine, I don't know how true this is.

Is he a member on here? How has no one asked that??? I would say see what his S/N is and search all his posts to see what has really gone down

The thing to look out for on the 03 is grinding going into third gear. I would take it out and hit all the gears hard to see if there are any grinds at all.
HR's came out '07/'08

i agree, but also they belong on a z, they would look ridiculous on an 8. just like the wheels on that 8 belong on that 8. it would be a mistake on both of your parts to keep your wheels.
