Default 2003 350z for my 2006 rx8?

Okay so i put my rx8 on craigslist not long ago in hopes for a Z to come my way.

And i think an angel from heaven just contacted me.

But I need your opinion on the deal.

It's a 2003, with 72k miles

List of upgrades: full hks exhaust, strup test pipes, dc headers, fully wrapped, BC racing coilovers, aem short ram, short shifter, stage 3 6- puck clutch, light weight flywheel, lightweight pulleys, kenectic intake plenium, 650cc injectors, HKS hi flow rail and complete tune from dynosty in Louisville.

My car is a 2006 Gran Touring Rx8 with 41k miles. It has an aftermarket body kit, with enkei wheels, aem intake, exotic speed exhaust, fully loaded, leather interior etc.

my car:

He said the tail lights are already back to stock.

And i believe my kbb is around 13k

I looked up his, i'm not sure what version 350z it is, but his came up around 11.5k under just the base model

I would do it in a heartbeat as long as everything checks out with the Z. Probably oil consumption

With those mods, there is potential that it was abused. I love the wheels, and the exhaust. I had an RX8 before, and I went with an 08 Z. Imo, if I hadn't gotten the HR I would have been bummed. But if you are going to trade I'd say go for it, but if you're going to sell the 8 in order to get the Z, HURRY! the 8 doesn't have a high demand. I had both my 8 and my Z at the same time since I didn't want to miss the deal on the Z. I'd say go for it.

EDIT!
Are they both 6 speeds?? the more I look at his car(minus the removed lights) compared to yours(no offense) I cannot be sure of why he would want to? Having an RX8 for the back seats is like.... having a Z for the backseats.

I would have him pay to make sure his car is mechanically sound, and that it isn't a time bomb ticking. If you do trade, and it is a time bomb, keep us updated on that as well

The guy just wants to transfer titles. Don't even have to sell it.

Just remove those boob tail lights first of all when you get the car! Kind of seems to good to be true. I'd recommend getting an HR but i doubt you would be able to trade the rx-8 for one. I say do it.

with how much he has invested into that z, there must be something wrong with it for him to want to trade for an 8. anyways i had an 8 before my z, and i miss it more than anything (totaled it hitting a deer at 45mph), the whole driving experience of the rx8 is better to me.

if you read the last part of the sentence it said "to me." it did not say to you, or to everyone. there was just something about that car that i loved, the interior of the grand touring is so nice, and the way that car feels in cornering is amazing. the exhaust note is spectacular, and you scare people when you shoot flames at them during the night. i also think they look thouuuuuusands better than 350z's.

Agreed, HKS exhaust for the Z is STUPID expensive... then again, with taste like those tails, it could be replica..

RED=I agree. It is very hard to explain how it feels to drive

BLUE=Disagree, it is YOUR opinion and I do love the styling, (wish I had mine with the same amount of time spent on the Z) and I love they way they look, but the Z, IMO, looks like its going to mess you up, whilst drinking with it's pinky up

Back on topic, double check everything is legit, part to part, and ask/post his reason for trading... Those "Gram Light" wheels are uber expensive if they are real.....

If it sounds too good to be true. It usually is to good to be true.

If all of his mods are legit and real your looking at a 2K exhaust, 2-3K wheels, 1K coils, etc. something is wrong with that Z. Unless he somehow has sentimental value to a rx8 or something. But looking at yours compared to his. Something screams scam or money pit....

It does sound too good to be true. But if you're about it, the best way is to have the Z checked out, inside and out. And if it does check out and you get it, the boobie tails have got to go, lol.

My buddy had those tail lights and it made his car run like sh*t! It would lose power and go into like a limp mode. Stock tails, or better yet 06+ tails and you are good to go. I would go check it out and drive it, but I say go for it.

Aftermarket taillights can make the car go into limp mode? That's in tents.

Am I missing something here, I thought the HR engine didn't come until 04 or 05? The one he has described is an 03. So it shouldnt' have issues with oil consumption right? I would say its an ok deal but I would try to get him to throw something in with it or cash on top simply because your car is 3 years newer with less miles. The thing to look out for on the 03 is grinding going into third gear. I would take it out and hit all the gears hard to see if there are any grinds at all.
