Default 350z learning manual

ok so i have had my 2006 enth for 10 months now. and i did what your not suppose to do which is learn manual with this car ( i regret it but luckliy i didnt mess anything up ) just wondering how long did it take you 350z owners to master driving this car perfectly everyday without messing up? i dont stall or anything like that but from time to time my take off and 2nd gear give me the hardest time shifting ( get alittle bobble )

Wrong sub section, and for me I'm still learning after almost 3years... I am good 98% of the time, but the 2% is usually over rev...ie burning clutch when Im not paying attention at a light. Just focus on doing everything right, adn making that a habit.. 1st to 2nd is goofy sometimes! Good luck!

I agree, 1st to 2nd is a little wierd to get used to. I've had my 06 for about 6 months now. I also learned manual on this and so far nothing broken clutch is probably a little worn but other than that I'm driving fine ATM. sometimes alittle jerky ESP. in the morning when I'm still half asleep lolol

Yeah about a month later and I'm driving smooth. With 2nd you just gotta almost treat it like 1st.

i drive fine most of the time its just my take off and going into 2nd. i caught myself usualy shifting alittle slow with those gears an not really revving them to high especialy in 1st gear.

1->2 is always a lil bit rough on manual cars. Just the torque 1st gear has transitioning into 2nd will cause the lunging effect.

There is nothing wrong with learning manual on a Z or G. Only downside is, the clutch is a little bit harder to get acquainted with. The clutch contact point and stiffness of the pedal makes this difficult. There are other cars out there that are much easier to learn on. If you can master it on a Z, you should be good on any manual street car.

I got my 2006 enthusiast about a year and a half ago. Took me about a month before I felt like 'okay, i'm not going to stall it anymore' and what not but still 1st-2nd felt real choppy and I was scared of hills for probably close to a year. The thing that helped me out most was getting that aftermarket clutch bracket. I think it's RJM or something like that. The best $150 ever spent on my ride. Shifting is so much easier now. Still sometimes choppy but a thousand times better.

As long as you're not granny shifting and you're double-clutching like you should, I don't see why learning on a Z/G would be bad thing.
